Letters of rec are due Jan 15th. You only need to send official transcripts if you are offered admission.

    UCLA MECN Fall 2019

Yes the application is due Nov 1. Official Transcripts and Letters of Rec are due January 15th. I'm applying to WesternU, USD, UCI, , USF, Azusa, Johns Hopkins. I'm nervous as well. The SOP and Personal History is stressing me out since they're the most important.

Congrats. What GPA did you have when they accepted you into NCP ?

USD MEPN application, prerequisites in progress?

I just went to the information last week. They basically said if you don't have the prerequisites and volunteer hours then you will be less competitive. They're looking for candidates that have everything done before the application deadline.

I took epidemiology already so I can't help you there. Have you been emailing or calling the office? I do know that they are busy going around community colleges and high schools doing recruitment work right now. If you need the phone number to one of the admissions counselors PM me.

I believe it would show on your transcript what department Human Anatomy falls under for the specific school where you took the class. For example, I took Introductory to Human Anatomy at UCLA Extension. The department would be "Life Sciences" because that is the main department the class falls under. The "number" would be the class number. For example, Intro to Human Anatomy was listed as "Physci XL 13", some schools have it as Human Anatomy I etc... I would contact the admissions office just to make sure though.

    UCLA MECN Fall 2019

Just to give you guys a heads up, I spoke to one of the admissions coordinators on Monday regarding the graduate application. Theres a glitch in the system when entering your pre-requisites courses, specifically Chemistry. If you took General Chemistry and Biochemistry and Organic Chemistry separately, I was informed to enter the Organic and Biochemistry grade not General Chemistry. They will look at your uploaded unofficial transcript for the General Chemistry grade. Good luck to you all ! Hope we all make it through.

Did you go to the information session? They had some recent graduates speak after and most of them said that they also did not have great GPAs as well (one of them implied it was below a 3.0). The presenters emphasized the statement of purpose and personal history numerous times which means that is more important. They are really looking at those, post undergraduate courses taken, and hands on work or volunteer experiences.

In my opinion, if you're set on becoming an NP, I would apply to Azusa Pacific University and Western University of Health Sciences. APU results in a NP after obtaining the accelerated BSN and Western has an option to do the NP program after completing the EMSN program. To be quite honest, I don't think there are advantages that come with this program. ALL nursing programs are geared towards one goal: Passing the NCLEX. Maybe the only advantage of going to UCLA is the networking.

According to the application guideline, UCLA takes a more holistic approach when evaluating. So I'm assuming Personal Statement, experience then GPA. Here is the evaluation link on the website if you haven't seen it: https://www.nursing.ucla.edu/sites/default/files/MECN%20Evaluation%20Criteria%20-%20Tips%20and%20Information.pdf
