  1. FY 2024 Navy Nurse Corps

Anyone on the same boat? Will be submitting in October.
  2. FY 2024 Navy Nurse Corps

I think getting a MEPS appointment varies. I believe I got an appointment 3 - 4 months after starting paperwork. I did MEPS first then interviews. I would expect you to enter as an O3 with that many years experience.
  3. FY 2024 Navy Nurse Corps

Are you asking how long it takes to get an appointment for MEPS or how long you'll be at MEPS? Your recruiter should have discussed what rank you would be entering as. Generally, New Grad - <2 years experience = O1; 2 - 4 years experience = O2; 5...
  4. FY 2024 Navy Nurse Corps

I'm in the scrolling process which means I'm waiting for my official approval from Congress. I haven't sworn in or get an ODS date yet. I will say that finding up to date information about Navy Nursing is limited.
  5. FY 2024 Navy Nurse Corps

So I had back pain from a work related incident that did not result in hospitalization. I had to give my recruiter the results of the X-ray and a note from my physician that this would not interfere with the job duties that I will perform. This quest...
  6. FY 2024 Navy Nurse Corps

Good Luck ! If you have any general application questions, I may be able to answer them. I am currently in the scrolling process.
  7. Navy, Air force, Military nursing

I contacted a medical recruiter/started the paperwork in Oct '22. Turned in my packet in Oct '23. Received decision Jan '24. Quite a long process to be honest.
  8. Navy, Air force, Military nursing

I received my Navy PRB "Yes". So I think I'm in ? Just wanted to say thanks for all the info in this thread
  9. Navy Nurse Application Process FY 24

I just received a PRB "Yes" on Jan 19th. I submitted my packet in Oct. 2023. I chose the $50k/4 year bonus.
  10. FY 2024 Navy Nurse Corps

Yes. I am going to be put into Med/Surg
  11. FY 2024 Navy Nurse Corps

Background check , LoR, medical eval, interviews, and the other paperwork is what took the most time.
  12. FY 2024 Navy Nurse Corps

Yes. I'm still in the process. Should hear back in a few days. I started the process Nov. 2022 and my application was turned into the boards Oct. 2023.
  13. Navy, Air force, Military nursing

What charting program is used in the hospitals? If the acuity is lower compared to civilian hospitals, how do active duty critical care/ER nurses keep their skills up?
  14. Navy, Air force, Military nursing

Does this also apply for non-APRN MSN degrees? I have a BS in Health Administration and just completed an Entry Level MSN program. I asked my recruiter and he wasn't sure. My application was just submitted a few days ago and I find out in N...
  15. UCLA MECN 2022

Q1: Lab either Mon or Tues and Saturdays. The labs have multiple time slots, so I can't give you a set time. The earlier your registration the better chances of you making your schedule. Lecture Wed-Fri. Lecture times will change every year, but do e...
  16. UCLA MECN 2022

I'm not sure if this happened to anyone else in my program. Yes, it was radio silence until I got my letter. I remember the first time I applied I didn't get any rejection or waitlist letter. The second time I got a waitlist letter was the same time ...
  17. UCLA MECN 2022

If your cohort will be in person, I would assume you would know your classmates well. Prior to the start of the program, some students hosted a meet and greet, which I highly recommend. You will get to know your classmates only if you put in the effo...
  18. UCLA MECN 2022

I plan on working until the end of this year. I'm lucky to have a job that is flexible with my schedule. Winter of your first year and fall of your 2nd year are the hardest.
  19. UCLA MECN 2022

Got accepted. I was not on the wait-list
  20. UCLA MECN 2022

I doubt they would allow you to TA your first quarter. Most TAs are from the DNP Phd program. I currently work 12-24 hours a week. It was manageable fall quarter but Winter quarter I would advise against working.
  21. UCLA MECN 2022

Mecn 1 here. I didn't hear back until Feb 20
  22. UCLA MECN 2022

Well at this stage of the app process once it's submitted there's nothing to do more but wait. So far the program has been mostly remote with the exception of skills labs, which are in person. COVID protocols are constantly changing.
  23. UCLA MECN 2022

Current MECN here. Good luck everyone !
  24. UCLA MECN 2021

Thank you. Things that changed in my application this cycle: I took Nursing Dosage and Pharmacology at LA Harbor College. [It doesn't count towards the nursing program credits but maybe it showed I was committed. I got an A in both....
  25. UCLA MECN 2021

Sweet. I got the email around noon. My last name starts with a "P" so I'm not sure if it's alphabetical. UCLA was the only school I applied to this cycle but I was rejected 3 times consecutively.
