I just got accepted into the FNP MSN-E program at Western University of Health Sciences.:D Has anyone gone through this program? If so, could you please share what you liked and disliked about the program. Any feedback would be helpful.

Thank you!

gashin-it just means there's still a chance. u just never know. out of curiosity, when did u interview & where do u live? mine was on the 23rd & i live in northern cali. haven't heard anything so maybe i'll get something in the mail tomorrow.

i just think it's a bit weird that they have an alternate list that's not ranked. whereas other schools have a waitlist & u get a number so u know where u stand as ppl decline their offer.

I live in So Cal and interviewed the 22nd. I was in the morning group. I think the way it works is that they have a meeting and discuss each alternate again to decide who gets in...

I am so bummed. I received a rejection letter today. The letter said to try again next year because the admission committee said I had potential. Also, it said to contact admissions for counseling in May. They were not able to interview everyone.

I had all my science prereqs pending. Next year, they will all be done and I will have a better chance.

Socal:crying2:

Yeah having your science pre-reqs is critical as stated on their site. Don't worry - you'll get in next year! (though look at me I'm not even in yet :()

thanks for the kind words gashin

hi all, i got a alternate list letter on saturday and im just curious, does anyone know how many people they have on this list? I really wish there was something we could do to help them make their decisions! like another interview, or essay, or letter...

did not make it into the program, BUT congrats to everyone else who did!:yeah:

Got an alternate too. I called them for additional info but they just said its up to the admission committee. :banghead::banghead:

Specializes in Cardiac ICU.

I'm an alternate too.

At the interview they said they admit 60 and put 50-60 on the alternate list. I'm not sure how they choose which alternates are accepted...I would think that they just go down the list numerically like they say they do with the accepted people. Who knows. I'm just hoping and praying my name comes up soon because this is the only interview I've had so far. But still waiting to hear from 3 other schools...

I think they put all those who weren't accepted after the interview into the alternate list.

Specializes in Cardiac ICU.

No, because they tell you in the booklet that you could end up in one of three statuses: accepted, alternate, or not accepted. And they told us that they put 50-60 on alternate, and that about 200 were interviewing.

Do you know anyone who was rejected?
