I just got accepted into the FNP MSN-E program at Western University of Health Sciences. Has anyone gone through this program? If so, could you please share what you liked and disliked about the program. Any feedback would be helpful.
Thank you!

Well I mean they told us that - but someone I know had experience a couple of years ago on the Western Pharmacy program alternate list. Basically, they put everyone who wasn't accepted from the interview onto the waitlist - the admissions Director is the same for nursing and pharmacy programs so I doubt they would be that different. He said that everyone he talked to at the interview who wasn't accepted was on the waitlist and it was the same on the student doctor forum. I think it's a lot harder for Western to reject people they have seen in person to have potential than for them to reject someone who had a lot of unfinished pre-reqs or needed more experience/higher GPA. My friend ended up going out of state for the cost so I think he withdrew from the waitlist.
Am I the only one who heard that not all who interviewed are on alternate??
Congratulations for all those accepted into the MSN-Entry program! I plan to apply for Fall 2011, and was just wondering if anyone can share some tips/info on how to strengthen my application. What kind of work/volunteering did you do to prepare for nursing school? Besides the pre-reqs on the website, did you take extra classes like public speaking or developmental psych to strengthen your application? Thanks!
This thread's kind of gone cold but I wanted to reopen it up. For those that are accepted and have decided you're going to attend Western in the fall, do you know when they'll be sending out the financial aid award letters? I hear the school does not award any grants and the estimated 72K (!!!!) price tag for the first year alone is making me nervous. and slightly nauseous.
I spoke with someone in the financial aid office and she said they would be sending out financial aid award amounts via email to our Westernu accounts at the end of this month. She seemed to be familiar with my FAFSA application and could give me a ballpark amount that she thought I would be awarded. I am still very stressed about the cost. Has anyone had luck finding grants or scholarships? How about living situations? I have not done enough work to find grant or scholarships, but I still plan to in the next 4 months! I have posted a roommate request on banweb.

Congrats to everyone who got accepted or on the alternate list. I have to apply to other places out of state. Can Anyone help me with a letter of intent for a MSN program? I just want to see what a good one looks like. Of course, you can erase your personal infos.
thanks.
