Tarshapitt you get a monthly deposit into your bank account. In the welcome pack paperwork there's a "Participant Award Worksheet" that will tell you how much will be deposited each month.

Nurse Corps Loan Repayment 2014!
I never got a straight answer. After I emailed someone a few times, he said he would escalate it and see what happened, but it would take 3-5 business days. Being the patient person that I am, I called Friday afternoon and asked about it. The lady put me on hold while she "tried to research whoever signed it", which also got me no answer. But then my congrats email came thru about an hour later. So who knows?

Has anyone noticed a delay in receiving an official award letter after your contract has been signed by an OFAM approver? I received the finalist e-mail and accepted an award 7/14/14, then noticed that there was a signature from someone from HRSA. BUT...my status is still "Under Final Review". Any idea what this means? I sent the help line an e-mail this morning, but it says they probly won't respond for 2 days. Anyone else seen this??

Nurse Corps Loan Repayment 2014!
I got the finalist e-mail July 14th and signed the same day. The cosign was on Aug 6th. Just wondering if anyone else had this happen, a delay like this. Don't wanna get my hopes up!

Nurse Corps Loan Repayment 2014!
Hi all - Quick question. I just looked at my signed contract and noticed that it has also been electronically signed by an HRSA OFAM approver on Aug 6th. However, I haven't received any notifications from them and my status is still "under final review". Any idea what this means? Did anyone else have this happen? Thanks!

Need info about UA in Tucson!
I'm in the process of interviewing for Cardiac ICU for UofA also. I drove out for the initial interview on Monday, and made a point of saying that I drove out from CA so they knew I was putting the extra effort in and was serious about the job. You could always do a phone interview - I had that option for my first but declined, but am doing the second round interview via phone this afternoon. As far as I can tell, it's a great facility to work at with a great reputation and you will get great experience. BUT, you have to be okay with moving to the desert and dealing with 100+ weather consistently. The way I'm viewing it - I'll take the job if it's offered to me and if I end up not liking it, I'll get my 1-2 years of experience and leave. As far as I can tell from the people I spoke with there, most people don't leave because it's a good organization to work for.

Hi all - I'm currently in Cohort 7/Class of 2014 For those of you who have not received confirmation yet, definitely try to call and get your interview date confirmed. I went through the same thing. I think we're coming up on the last week or 2 of interviews. You probably want to try and get a hold of Amber, Alana, or Mitzi. As for money...the program is definitely very expensive like Sandy said. Personally, I completely relocated my life to be in this program & am paying rent, but I did not take out the full amount offered to me. My calculations: take out the full amount to cover tuition + $1,000 per month + $2,000 for books, lab fees, etc. My advice if you're moving down here? Find a roommate thru the WesternU website and live somewhere CHEAP. Also, don't worry if you're right next to campus since you'll be driving 30 mins on average to get to clinical sites. And the neighboring cities are pretty much all nicer than Pomona The dreaded interview...ethically, I can't tell you what questions they asked. But my advice would be to study the school's website and develop some questions about the school or program. Probably wouldn't hurt to know a few things about the 2015 changes also since it will be affecting the next cohort. There's 3 parts to your interview day: the interview itself, a writing sample, and a campus tour. And yes, interviews are conducted individually - 2 faculty and 1 student. Hope that helps!
