I'm in west TN too!!! Up here in Martin. I don't graduate until May 2005 So glad to find others from Tenn on here!!! Hi all!!! :)
LPNAlmost!...Hi...I work at the Med in the unit where your baby was born (although I wasn't there until 1994). What a compliment though to our unit...that is afterall what it's all about!! Good luck in your job search!!!
The wonderful nurses I met while at the Med are the reason I've always wanted to be a nurse. So, now that it's almost time to finish this dream, I'm wondering if I'm really ready to work at a hospital this size. All of my clinicals have been done in Jackson, TN, in a hospital not nearly as big as the Med. Honest opinion, do you think this is the right place for a new graduate to try to start her career, or should I get some med/surg experience at a smaller hospital first? Thanks for your help!!
Hi to all from TN and everyone else. I have a question, what is the med??? Where is it?Also, any one from the Paris TN area. I live in Murray KY. just about 20 minutes from Paris. I just applied to Paris hospital. Any one know much about this area and the hospital here? Any sugestions as to a great place to work around this area. I just moved here from michigan a couple of months ago and am now in the process of looking for work, I have Ky and TN license. thanks. TN is a friendly place.

Ahh...many many people from Michigan down in TN... I tease and say we have "little detroit" LOL
Anyway, The Med is in Memphis. It is a trauma center. I had a family member there in the Trauma ICU. Very good care!
I am south of Jackson and am a brand new JSCC student. Welcome to TN!
I too am from west tennessee. I grew up in Obion County, lived in Martin while at UTM getting an accounting degree, now live in Benton Co. and waiting to hear if I was accepted to the nursing program at JSCC. How soon did any of you at JSCC get your letters?
Are you applying for spring? When was the deadline (I'm a fall entry student...I found out in February..about a month after the deadline)
You can always ask Clint..he is a real sweetheart and will do anything to help you and answer your questions.
How did you do on the ACT? Obviously that is the biggest weight on acceptance.
TDG RN....are you in the final semester?
Hi Mommy Nurse2b,
Yes, I applied for the Spring 06 term. I recently emailed Clint questioning when letters would be sent. He replied that they'd be sent at the end of the month or the beginning of November, and that there had been a delay.
I did okay on my ACT with a score of 26. I'm pretty confident but don't want to be overly confident. I just want to know so I can start planning. I have 2 children and I will have to quit my current job, so I am a little anxious!
Are you enjoying the program so far?

Clint is really awesome...JSCC is very good about getting you info ASAP. A 26 sounds pretty good...doesn't that get you max points (yep just checked...24+ is all the same points) so I would think you have excellent chances!
So far I really am enjoying it and am doing pretty well. Of course we have mid term evaluations so we'll see if my teacher agrees LOL. It's a lot of reading and it's good to figure out your learning style. Our last exam had like 350 pages..it was a lot of material. This time we will have about 250 pages so not quite as many LOL.
Are you taking any prereq's now?
Let us know as soon as you find out!
