I got my transcript evaluation from Chamberlain today for the RN-BSN ... they want me to retake MATH. As in, college algebra. (*&^%$#. Despite the College Algebra class and the Probabilities and Statistics class from the University of Maryland. They also want me to take an Advanced Composition class, despite the Honors Comp class from U of MD and the AP English test that earned me 3 credits of advanced placement at the U of MD. WHATEVER. I flat-out told my adviser that there was no way I could afford Chamberlain if I'm taking all this stuff OVER AGAIN. Arrghh. She's going to see if CLEPs are a possibility, but come on! I'm really annoyed and disappointed. Every college has a different idea of what I need for undergrad general ed. stuff. Some want more of this, others more of that. It adds up to a headache. I'm not trying to get out of taking things I truly haven't had, I swear. I own up to the fact that I have three (yes, three!) associates degrees and have never had Economics, so that one's a given. But this is nuts! I have a total of 182 college credits, not even including the additional 24 credits earned by CLEP and AP exams ... grand total: 206. Holy crow. I've never actually added them all up! I don't know whether to laugh or cry. Did I mention my GPA is right around a 3.8?
Oh well ... we'll see what happens. I'm also still looking at a few other programs that made it to my "short list." It's just frustrating -- I don't want to fork out a ton of money to send my transcripts all over the planet! Requesting transcripts from three schools plus College Board (AP and CLEP) will add up. Luckily I saved ALL of my transcripts and have student copies of transcripts that MOST schools will evaluate unofficially (unlike EC, who still insisted that I must first enroll before they could evaluate a syllabus. Ummmmm ... no.).
Sigh. I seem to be in full-on whine mode. Sorry.

Awww.....that is a disappointment, but not a setback! There are other programs out there for you to evaluate, and then....who knows? There will be a window open somewhere, Lunah.......:)

Thanks for the FYI.. I too went to UMCP and I wonder if they won't be accepting mine when I apply :-( Was it because the classes are old or because they don't recognize UMD's classes?
Good luck!
I didn't go to UMCP -- mine was University of Maryland, Munich Campus (Germany). It's part of the UM/University College (UMUC) division. I'm not sure what the deal is ... I submitted the syllabus for one class and the course catalog description for the other, and we'll see what they say. I also scanned/sent my AP test results for the English credits. I have my mom to thank for telling me 18 years ago to keep copies of all that stuff. LOL. I can't believe I even have my SAT results from 1989.

That sucks, Lunah. What a crock.
As for keeping all your stuff- I totally agree. Keep all of your syllabi, too.
I wish I had kept my old ACT records a long time ago. They lost my file, and never found it.

Lisa,
I would check out SPC in st petersburg florida. I think it is probably the same price as the school you are trying to go too. It is like 340 a credit for out of state, but I think that is comparable to chamberlin.
I know spc takes clep and dsst exams. I would make sure you check with central records prior to taking a dsst exam though to make sure it will transfer. I am taking the introduction to world religion dsst exam

I got a 1450. It was 98th percentile. Funny thing was that I was soooo uninterested in college at that point I was like "Meh, so what" and didn't even apply anywhere. Now that I'm old and SAT scores don't matter, I decide to go to college. Duh.
