Hi everyone this is kind of nursing related. I have recently started a weight loss program. I was wondering if anyone would like to join me . Maybe some of you are already doing it and need a buddy. I thought I or someone else could post on the just converstation bb, say once a week? I am doing a high protein diet, so far I have lost 7 pounds. It has been 9 days since I started. I do aerobics for one hour every day. I have only missed one day so far. My weight is my business for now. I just thought I'd ask. Like I said I want this to go to the off topic bb as it really isn't nursing related. I will try and check on the weekend and I think a good day to post the post will be on Sun or Mon.
Any Takers?:)

Good job. It must feel great to have lost all those inches. Soon I will be saying the same thing.
To everyone else! Hooray... I don't have to do this alone! See you all tomorrow.
Congratulations to all you committing to healthy lives!
I'm lucky in that I have never been overweight but it doesn't mean I can't get that way. If I let up on my exercise or healthy eating, the pants start to fit a little tighter. I am a master's prepared exercise physiologist and will be re-certifying as an exercise specialist in October. Feel free to e-mail me with any questions you have on eating and exercise.
I do have a couple of tips for those of you struggling with the exercise. Walk. Park your car far away and walk. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. Walk your dog, your child your significant other. Try videos. Set a goal like a charity race, Race for the Cure etc. I stayed in great shape last spring by training for the Country Music half marathon. Do yoga, weights, milk jugs work pretty well. Shape magazine has a great home wieght workout in the sept issue.
Keep up the good work and keep moving!

I blamed my weight on those pregnancy pounds....but the "baby" will be old enough to drink next March so I guess it is time to find a new excuse!

Hi SusanRN2004........why I was just thinking the same thing as you except my "baby" will turn 26 years of age on August 22nd...so today, my doctor entered me in this nutrition program at the hospital called "Winning Concentration". I have to wait until they call me for the official appointment. I'm upset because I seem to be putting on weight since taking my Celexa for depression and the doctor would rather have me try this program than wean me from the med right now. Makes hubby happy that she won't wean me from the Celexa...so...:chuckle
If I could drop 30 pounds, I'd be the a svelte size 9/10...:kiss...can't get too thin because I don't like being thin anyway.....but I do like being able to wear certain clothing that I am not able to wear right now. I'm getting more depressed because of the weight gain since being on the pill, but it has done wonders for me emotionally speaking, so I guess I can't have both right now. My emotional state of mind is so much more important when I compare it to a measley 30 pounds I want to lose. :)
