Weatherford College Spring 2011 applicants

Published

Hi! Who is applying to Weatherford for the spring 2011 semester?

I took the TEAS yesterday and didn't do as well as I was hoping. I am going to retake it and hopefully then I will have 18 or 19 points. It seems that the point system has changed and is only 23 possible points now, rather than 26.

I really don't know if 18 or 19 will be enough, but I haven't completed Micro so that is going to hurt me. I figure it is worth a try though! You can't win if you don't play! lol.

So who else is applying? How many points does everyone have?

The deadline was the end of July I believe. We found out in mid-September...15th and 16th of the month.

You whisked my hope away in one big swoop. :)

I agree. I am thinking beginning of April if we are lucky. I would lOVE to get them before then, but I am not counting on it. So we just wait I guess. I wonder what the points are looking like this app period. So anxious.

It appears they used to send them out the Friday before Spring Break.

I was told by one girl that she got an 88 on the TEAS. A in math and an A in science. My guess her points are wayyyy up there. From talking with Karen, she's pretty sure "she's in" the program.

Sherri-Where they turned in at the same time? How long ago was it when they used to do that?

I'd have to search more, I just remember reading a few posts (some as close as 2009 if my memory serves me right) stating they were mailed the Friday before spring break.

If letters are going out the Friday before Spring Break, that would be 2 days from now. I honestly don't see how they could process all the applications in two weeks time after the deadline. Unless of course Karen was keeping up with every application as it was turned in, and didn't wait until receiving them all to start processing them. I don't know. Unless I hear it from WC directly on when letters will go out, I won't start stalking my mailman just yet.

Hmmm....well that would be this Friday! I won't be holding my breath for that one, but it would be the best thing ever.

If you recently applied to start in the fall, the letters should go out the Friday before spring break. In this case, it would be March 13th. Best of luck to you!

I doubt they will be mailed out this early. It's likely that they have more applicants now than they did in 09 and before. The program has improved and more people seem to be aware that they have a program. I'm surprised though at how many people I meet at school that don't know WC has an RN program.

Also, when I turned in my app at WC, the secretary said most likely it would be the beginning of April, but to expect them to come the beginning of May.

I'm not expecting it either, but I will be checking my mail very regularly beginning Spring Break. Just in case!

From what I saw in Karen's office, she was very organized and was processing them (at least to an extent) as they came in. I was in her office on Friday the 26th and the room was full of boxes of neatly stacked papers. She was at lunch. I spoke with another lady that told me Karen would be VERY BUSY over the weekend. Come Monday, a friend dropped off her application and said the boxes were gone.

My family runs a business. We have to do a lot of data entry, sometimes large amounts. With focus, you can get 300 or so completed in a day. Follow up checking and double checking a few more. Of course we are trying to hurry and get it done ASAP. So I am sure it would take WC office longer. But it CAN be done.

Aren't the LVN's supposed to have their info in by the end of this month? My guess is they would want to have the ADN completed and out of the way before the next group comes in.
