Hi! Who is applying to Weatherford for the spring 2011 semester?
I took the TEAS yesterday and didn't do as well as I was hoping. I am going to retake it and hopefully then I will have 18 or 19 points. It seems that the point system has changed and is only 23 possible points now, rather than 26.
I really don't know if 18 or 19 will be enough, but I haven't completed Micro so that is going to hurt me. I figure it is worth a try though! You can't win if you don't play! lol.
So who else is applying? How many points does everyone have?
Do you think the letters will go out some time this week? I figured they might go out next Friday or Monday (the 25th or 28th) if they follow the pattern of last year.
Loly, how many points did you end up with? I only had 17, but I'm hoping it's enough to at least get me on the Alternate List. I'm honestly not expecting a rejection letter from WC, not with the way the TEAS scores were looking. Maybe I'll get lucky and even get accepted!! *crosses fingers*
Despite having the maximum points for GPA and completed courses, I only walked away with 4 points from the teas. I did not want to retake a second time because I didn't want to ruin my chances with TCC for next semester if I don't get in. I will retake it a second time if need be but I felt that taking it twice within the same application period is a big NO, NO on Tcc's part.
Weatherford College puts great emphasis on the Teas. Really, at this point I don't think I have an idea how TCC ranks their applicants but I think that GPA on the sciences courses is weighed heavier than teas score. I have a 4.0 in my sciences and an overall 3.9, I had one B in English.
I do agree that WC places more emphasis on the TEAS scores, which I don't necessarily agree with. Some people could be exceptional students, but horrible test takers. Especially on a standardized test like the TEAS. I remember the day I took it, I was so nervous and had myself so worked up, that I rushed through most of the test. Even though I studied for over a month, I never felt prepared to be tested like that on 4 subjects over the course of 4 hours. Its just a lot to take in.

Ya, my heart was pounding so fast, I felt like I had a ticking bomb in my hands the whole test. I ran out of time on the math, I'm good at math, but when I have adequate time to complete it. I studied for over a month and half but my score definitely does not reflect my strength and dedication as a student. Oh well, I feel really good about TCC though. I'm positive that God will find the right time for me to embark on this journey, whether for the Fall or another semester.
Hi.... I was hoping someone could give me some more info about the evening program. Can you apply for evening in both spring and fall from the wc websites it seems Spring is the only time. I just stumbled upon this program which would work perfectly with my schedule and the fact that I'm a single mom . Only downside is I don't think I can complete the classes I'm missing in time to meet the Spring 2012 application deadline.....I'm soo excited about finding a program that actually meets the needs of working students. Any info would be great. I can't wait to contact the campus but they are closed for break ugggh...
I might be mistaken, but I think the night/weekend program was just introduced this past Spring. They only accept 20 students for it. The way the schedule looked this past semester was Mondays: 1pm-9pm, Wednesdays 1pm-5pm, Thursdays 1pm-9pm and clinicals on Saturday 6:30am-2:30pm. And I do believe that this particular program is only available for the Spring semester start.
My best advice would be to call and speak to the nursing advisor, KL, on Monday.
No, I wish I was a student there! I was selected as an alternate for the Spring 2011 class that just started, but never made it off the list. With only 20 spots, there was not a lot of wiggle room. So, I reapplied for Fall and am currently waiting for my acceptance/rejection letter to arrive.
Good luck. I sure hope you are accepted. I am 27 also. If I don't get back into school soon I'm going to go crazy! Thank you for answering my questions. I know this is an older thread. Did you re test or take any more classes or did you just resubmit your application....
