Many products coming out of china are now being recalled due to unsafe materials to make products and keep the budget at a low cost. Lead is MIXED in the paint for toys and here is what happened when a customer bought a pair of flip flops from wal-mart, these were chemical burns.

I read about that about a month ago. Isn't that awful!? We were at WM yesterday and I found myself second guessing a lot of thing we would normally put in our cart.

Buy American.
I am so behind, been having my nose buried in nursing books-but it sure is scary!! I knew about the toy recall, pet food recall etc. but not this.
Yes, buy American!!

That is horrible. But I wonder if it could be from a latex allergy instead of reaction from lead. I didn't think contact with lead could be that fast. They used to put lead in white gold jewelry and I never heard of anyone's skin breaking out that fast from jewelry unless they had an allergy to something in the metal.

Just another reason why I never set foot in Walmart.

We went through our son's toys and threw out everything that was made in China. That is probably a little extreme, but with something new getting recalled every other week, we figured better to be safe. We buy American or Mexican. :)
There is no possible way we could throw out everything we own that was made in China, we sure do avoid putting said items in our shopping cart at the store. Scary stuff.

I don't like Walmart. The only thing good about them is that you can park your RV in their parking lot.

Here's an idea, challenge all Walmart executives to walk in these flip-flops for a day.....Then see if they still say no problem!:trout:
Look @ the second page where she does the latex test. I don't think it was a reaction to latex either.
My experience has been that no matter what time of day or week you go, their enormous parking lot is full. No matter what Walmart I shop. I avoid it now, and shop elsewhere because it's too hectic in there and out.
I wouldn't know, I've shopped at Walmart a total of once in the last 15 years or so. Their staff seemed totally stressed out and harried, and not particularly helpful. I never liked that greeter thing they do, not sure if they still do it, but it annoyed me.
