Hi, I took my nclex exam 7/7 and checked the doh for my credentials. It says "active" but I didn't get the famous "PVT pop up" that everyone talks about.
Does "active" next to my name on the credentials search mean anything? Pass? It used to say pending...
I'll pay for the quick results tomorrow. As of today, it says that my results are not yet in.
Thanks for any help.

I don't know what state you are in. Michigan BON shows license number, active status and dates (issue/expire).
I'm in Washington state. Our BON also show the same items except for issue date. It shows an expiration date..
Oh my God. I passed the nclex! Just got my unofficial results!

Congrats!!!
That 48 hour wait is awful, isn't it? Glad you got good news!

Is the "bad pop up" from PVT not accurate?

The PVT is not 100% accurate. If your state participates in quick results wait until you can get the results.
I did a lot of research before my 48 hours was done (to check if I passed). I've read that Pearson has tried to change the PVT trick so that it wouldn't work. What I've most recently read is that you have to enter your credit card info (but take care to put an incorrect exp date) and if you passed it will at that time give you the PVT pop up. If you don't get the PVT pop up and instead get an error message / please re-enter your exp date for your credit card, then that's an indicator that you did not pass.

Did you try the trick before you found out you passed?
Yes, I did. But I was too chicken to submit my credit card information. I actually checked the DOH credentials search and it verified before my 48 hours that I had passed because it showed that I had an active license! Then the following day I paid for the quick results and it confirmed that I had indeed pass. Good luck to you!! :-)

If you did a lot of research, then you should know that Pearson Vue updated its software for online registration; it had nothing to do with "changing the PVT". The SIDE EFFECT of that update is that everyone is prompted to put in credit card information prior to attempting another registration; the site warns that attempting duplicate registrations is not permissible and if a duplicate registration is made (IOW, you were charged for an exam that you won't need because you passed) your money is completely non-refundable.
In any event, it has been shown with significantly increasing frequency that people who attempt multiple registrations (doing the PVT over and over) are just increasing the chances that they WILL BE charged a fee, REGARDLESS of pass/fail status. If there are no funds on the card, an error message will appear....this is NOT always an indicator of a failed exam, but rather of PV's attempt to charge the person playing with the registration program.
I know there are those who swear by it, and say it's very accurate if you wait 24 hours. While it's true that waiting 24 hours eliminates the possibility of not having the finalized scoring completed (a Quality Assurance review takes place at an unknown point during the 24 hours after every exam), it's also true that waiting 25 hours doesn't always result in an "accurate" reading.
Just ask the person who waited 48 hours to do the PVT (got screwed up between what was "trick" and what was "Quick Results") and got the "bad pop up"----but later found out he PASSED--what he thinks of the accuracy of the PVT
