  1. I applied for the CNM Thursday. I have't even got Kira interview yet and people are saying on here, they got it the same day - now I am freaking out!
  2. Sounds confused. Maybe 24 hours of overtime a week?
  3. Hello! Any advice on how to get a clinic job? I have been a nurse for 5 years, all in acute care. I am looking for a clinic job, but it seems impossible. Any ideas? I am currently in NP school, and am looking for a taste of primary care! Thank you!
  4. Hello! So I started this new job and they have a Clinical Nurse Leader, which is actually being filled by a CNS. But what exactly is a Clinical Nurse Leader? I see you can get a MSN-CNL degree, but most people are getting those to practice as an RN? Just trying to educate myself on this CNL thing! Thanks :)
  5. I hope it went well today! Keep me updated!
  6. Congrats! I had my interview today and she accepted me on the spot! She did most of the talking! Just asked about my nursing history and talked about the program!
  7. Yep, LARA is where you will apply! Let me know when you hear back from Wayne! Thank you :)
  8. I know some graduates of the NNP program ( I work in a NICU) and then some PNP- PC graduates! They all have loved it! It is a well known program in Michigan! Some of the best NPs I know, have graduated from there! I assuming you would have to get a Michigan RN license though. Do you have that?
  9. I am going for primary care concentration, you?
  10. Hi! I applied to the PNP program, about 6 weeks after I got an invitation for a phone interview. I interview next week, so I will keep you updated!! I know they offer distance learning! I believe the DNP-FNP is on a different deadline. PNP application deadline is July 1st for Fall 2018!
  11. Does anybody know how long it takes to hear back from Wayne State University? I found out the other day I have an interview for the University of Michigan. Seems like it's taking forever to hear back...
  12. I have been a nurse for 4 years and I can't imagine doing an ordinary job. But I am currently struggling. I am over this whole night shift thing. I'm starting to get depressed and I am usually the happiest person around. I'm tired of my schedule get moved around, so I work every weekend and holiday. I can't even see my family this holiday season because I work Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Eve. This doesn't seem fair, but because it is the actual day, "it doesn't count as a holiday". I never see my family, and my parents are older. With my current schedule, I don't even get a chance to go out and meet someone. It is starting to wear on my body. I am almost thinking of looking into a doctor office position, because then at least I have a normal life. I love the floor I work on, and when I'm working I love it. It's not the job itself that I hate.
  13. I love my job, but my body cannot handle night shift. I switched jobs about 5 months ago and went from day to night shift. I figured my body would adjust to night shift, however, I was wrong. My BP has increased, can't stay asleep, increased migraines, and weight loss. Not to mention I feel like I am going into a depression, and don't feel like myself at all. I know I can't transfer to day shift on my floor for 6 years (seniority). But, you are able to transfer to another position within the hospital after 6 months. It is becoming more tempting to transfer to a day position( even if it is on another floor) as time goes on. Any thoughts/suggestions?
