  1. Well, I ended up taking up a different job offer which is a place just 5 minutes from my house and a d!ecent starting wage -- So, I'm pretty ecstatic! I had to resign from the other job because I had 1 day of orientation -- the HR person that I spoke to made no effort to hide how upset she was though. Probably one of the hardest things I had to do and I felt really bad for resigning after orientation. I just couldn't pass up on the other job offer. Wish me luck! I'm excited and nervous to start!
  2. The paperwork I completed today was the application and the background check form. They also had me do the drug screening as well. I only spoke with the supervising nurse. She said that once everything clears, that HR will give me a call. Should I still call tomorrow or should I just wait until HR calls me back?
  3. Well, yes it does make a big difference, to me. McDonalds employees in some cities in my state are getting upwards of above 12, 13, 14 dollars per hour. With having much more education, I would hope that I could get a wage that was more than a dollar more than those working at McDonalds. Wouldn't you?
  4. I stand corrected. Thank you!
  5. Thanks for the advice. Man...I wish I knew. She didn't give me a job description per se or letter. I was actually offered the job before I finished the application but my friend that works there had put in a good word for me. I actually found out during the interview that my friend has been discussing with the nursing manager that she's thinking of leaving... Ugh. I want the job but I also just don't want to be underpaid. I am an entry level nurse though. I just would like to know what they'll start me out at.... I guess I'll call tomorrow.
  6. Hello, I had an interview today at a long term care facility for an LPN job. It was my 2nd interview... Anyway, it was a great interview and I was offered the job, started paperwork, did the drug screen etc, BUT amid all the excitement -- I FORGOT TO ASK WHAT MY PAY WAGE WOULD BE! After I left, I called the facility but the nurse supervisor had already went home for the day. I feel like a dunce not asking, even after being asked if I had any questions! Shall I call tomorrow? Should I just wait until HR calls me back after my background check and drug screening clears? What should I do?
  7. Hello, I had a question as I'm putting together my resume and starting to fill out job applications. The last job I've had ended in 2012 and I've been in school since (off and on again) with some life situations that have come and gone (dad passing away during nursing school etc.) My question is: I've read other threads that say that an entry-level LPN resume should only be 1 page long. I've done that with most of the type text size 9 font and I only have my objective, education, certifications, clinical experience, volunteer experience, and references. I have not listed my job experience as there is no more room on the 1 page. Should I just proceed and make a resume that is 2 pages long? Is it worth listing my prior job experience if it had nothing to do with the healthcare industry? It was more secretarial / administrative experience that I had. Any advice I truly appreciate. Much thanks! -Misokitty:cat:
  8. Yes, I did. But I was too chicken to submit my credit card information. I actually checked the DOH credentials search and it verified before my 48 hours that I had passed because it showed that I had an active license! Then the following day I paid for the quick results and it confirmed that I had indeed pass. Good luck to you!! :-)
  9. I did a lot of research before my 48 hours was done (to check if I passed). I've read that Pearson has tried to change the PVT trick so that it wouldn't work. What I've most recently read is that you have to enter your credit card info (but take care to put an incorrect exp date) and if you passed it will at that time give you the PVT pop up. If you don't get the PVT pop up and instead get an error message / please re-enter your exp date for your credit card, then that's an indicator that you did not pass.
  10. Oh my God. I passed the nclex! Just got my unofficial results!
  11. I'm in Washington state. Our BON also show the same items except for issue date. It shows an expiration date..
  12. Hi, I took my nclex exam 7/7 and checked the doh for my credentials. It says "active" but I didn't get the famous "PVT pop up" that everyone talks about. Does "active" next to my name on the credentials search mean anything? Pass? It used to say pending... I'll pay for the quick results tomorrow. As of today, it says that my results are not yet in. Thanks for any help.
