Waiting on Ivy Tech acceptance letters thread

Published

I thought it might be nice to have a place for us to vent our frustrations with waiting until May 30th or so when letters start going out. I know I'm going nuts already!

How about introductions and a little info about each person?

I'm applying to both Bloomington and Indy-Lawrence for the Fall 2009 ASN programs. I turned in my apps this week with 4 As on the pre-reqs and a 90.0 on the TEAS. My eventual goal is at least getting a BSN, and if I feel like doing homework long enough, an MSN of some sort. I work full time now, but will hopefully only work part time if I get accepted. I'm so antsy to start preparing and finally feel like all of this is real!

Well guys, nothing for me today. Maybe newRN09 is right, maybe I made some stupid mistake. I checked it over and over, turned in all of my transcripts, my Teas scores, everything on the checkoff list was there. I had the administrative assistant look over my app, I applied to both the RN and LPN, and still nothing, so I must have done something so wrong.

And just so you know newRN09, whoever you are, we are all adults and we all do have feelings and don't need to be belittled or corrected by your so called expertise. This is a very exciting time for all of you that are beginning your new journey, so at least have the dececency to congratulate everyone on their efforts. I truly hope that your posts are not an indication of what your bedside manner will be when you are a nurse.

Best of luck to all of you.

hrse,

I know this is easier said than done but try to stay hopeful and positive-- I am sure you did everything right and your mail is just taking it's sweet time. Where we go one we go all and you're coming too! I'm sure you are in. Maybe give it until Monday and then call or email the nursing office to make sure your letter went out. Hang inthere. We are all rooting for you!

Qtrhrse - I got in with a 210, so you should be in with a 211. Call the Administrative Assistant. She is very nice, and very thorough. If she checked your application, I'm sure it was just fine. No sense in torturing yourself all weekend. Who knows what happened to your letter, seriously, CALL HER. :icon_hug:

I agree. She loves helping students and you will probably feel much better after you call. Call call call!!

I have never even "met" you guys, but I have to say, you all are so awesome. Thank for the support! I know with your compassion, drive, and even your humor, you will all make amazing RN's! I hope I am there with you in the fall, but if I have to wait a semester, y'all will just have to put up with my questions as the newbie to the program.

Enjoy your weekends ladies!

Thanks Qtrhrse, but I REALLY want you to call her... PRETTY PLEASE?!?! (See, I can be supportive and bossy at the same time! Does that make me a multi-tasker? snort!)

LPN acceptance letters for Indy did already go out--I got one yesterday--but that doesn't mean that everyone will get them right away! Depending on where you live it could take a few extra days! And I think someone said they got in with a 191, so anyone above that should be fine!

Ok, I sent an email...not a phone call, I know, but I am not sure I can fight back my emotions enough to get a sentence out. Thanks for the laugh by the way, I do appreciate your bossy support, you'll make a great nurse! (and how did you know I sometimes snort when I laugh! ) :)

I looked at my phone about 20 minutes ago and saw a text from my husband about me getting a letter from Indy today!!! So I just got home on my lunch and IT'S FOR REAL, IT'S REALLY HERE AND I CAN BREATHE AGAIN! I cried so hard at work when I found out, so now I have to go back for half an hour and tell everyone :D And then on my way home I'm going to Borders to buy an NCLEX review book!!!!!!

Still holding out for Bloomington, but I'M IN AT INDY! :D

You guys are so amazing, I don't know what I would do without you all!

Qtrhrse - I'm sending every bit of good luck energy I've got towards you now!

Lennon,

CONGRATS!!!!:yeah:

I have truly appreciated this board and all of the positive support that has been expressed.

Congrats!!!!!! :yeah:

I have to admit, I'm getting so jealous. I just want my letter! I talked with the nursing director at Fort Wayne who told me today that the letters weren't going out until "after the weekend." I attended a few universities for my pre-reqs and I'm sort of freaking out that I made a mistake somewhere along the line. Blah.

YAY LENNON! Indy will be more fun with all of us, than B-town.... come on, you know you wanna!

:ancong!:

Yaaaay Lennon!! Congrats!!! :balloons::cheers:

I definitely think we should all meet up after Orientation!

Just out of curiosity, everyone that has kids - how many and how old are they? What are you doing as far as daycare when the program starts?

Congratulations Lennon! You are so funny...going out and buying the NCLEX book! My husband brought me one last year! It is pretty intense but IVY TECH has a great rep for getting their students ready and with passing grades! good luck with what ever campus you go to!!
