Waiting on Ivy Tech acceptance letters thread

Published

I thought it might be nice to have a place for us to vent our frustrations with waiting until May 30th or so when letters start going out. I know I'm going nuts already!

How about introductions and a little info about each person?

I'm applying to both Bloomington and Indy-Lawrence for the Fall 2009 ASN programs. I turned in my apps this week with 4 As on the pre-reqs and a 90.0 on the TEAS. My eventual goal is at least getting a BSN, and if I feel like doing homework long enough, an MSN of some sort. I work full time now, but will hopefully only work part time if I get accepted. I'm so antsy to start preparing and finally feel like all of this is real!

I agree with buying Lennon a drink! I am SO thankful to have found this thread - thanks girlie!

I'm game to meet for a celebratory toast - wherever & whenever!

I'm in! If we think we needed each other through the waiting process, we are all reeeeally going to start needing each other now! :heartbeat:redbeathe

Masonsmommy,

This is wrong to assume it is their fault. It goes through the admissions committee which is more than one person, and they check thoroughly. I know someone who thought they did everything right, but they did not submit the official transcript from another college. They went to 2 colleges previously and only submitted the last transcript, since they thought their transfer credit would be on the most recent transcript. They needed to submit the transcript from the original college they took the class from.

I am sorry, but anyone that thinks they can protest is incorrect. It was HER fault that she didn't follow the directions.

Okay, seriously. I don't mean to be a complete witch, but I feel that the majority of your (newRN) posts in this thread have been negative and condescending and frankly it's just uncalled for. This thread is intended to be a source of support and encouragement-- I think we all made it clear before that we are all freaking out about the selection process and will continue to freak out until each and every one of us has a resolution. It is completely natural for people to be agonizing over the decisions at this point and second guessing themselves. That is a normal part of not having control over a situation. It's a way of coping with the unknown. I think people are just venting and really aren't intending for each and every word to be taken under scrutiny. I don't mean to speak for the group as a whole. I'm just voicing my own opinion about what this thread means to me. I hope we can eliminate negative posts and instead continue this wonderfully supportive and very active thread! Soon we will all be classmates at our respective campuses and should remember that this journey is only going to get more and more stressful-- we will continue to need each other's support more and more as we continue. Maybe you aren't intending to come across harsh or negative, but personally I have felt that many of your posts have seemed that way. Sorry if I'm out of line. Just sayin'. This is an emotional time for many people...cut everyone some slack and just let them vent!

Girl, you are "in with a 210!" and your letter is coming today! Have a hangover from last night?

Is today the day??? jeeeez, i hope so. To any other Fort Wayners, the girl in the first office in the nursing department said that they are hoping to get them sent out by the end of this week....:D

ahcgirl, I'm not sure who else was Fort Wayne besides you and me, but I really hope today is the day for us! Or tomorrow. I had kind of resigned myself to waiting until next week, but the end of this week sounds so much better!

I finally got my letter yesterday!!! For Indy I got in to the LPN! (I only had a 191? I can't even remember now) I'm going to hold out for Columbus just in case I get an RN spot, but I couldn't be happier either way, I'm just thankful to be in. Who else is joining me as an LPN at Indy? I will be with all of you for awhile, but I can't remember anyone saying the were for LPN. Who else is waiting for Columbus? Congrats to everyone! I'd love to get together! Lets set something up!!

Congrats Teboz

I applied to Indy also both programs with 196. Hopefully I get something today too! I thought I would get a reject letter from the RN program and have to wait another two weeks to find out about LPN!

GOD I AM GOING CRAZY!!!

Just wanted to say I hope those of you who are waiting get your letters today! I'm thinking of youvans sending positive vibes your way!

Sunshine, I applied to both obviously, but I only got one letter saying congrats you're in the LPN, I never got anything saying I didn't make the RN. So you'll know for sure when you get your letter!!! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, but either way you're in too!!
