Waiting on Ivy Tech acceptance letters thread

Published

I thought it might be nice to have a place for us to vent our frustrations with waiting until May 30th or so when letters start going out. I know I'm going nuts already!

How about introductions and a little info about each person?

I'm applying to both Bloomington and Indy-Lawrence for the Fall 2009 ASN programs. I turned in my apps this week with 4 As on the pre-reqs and a 90.0 on the TEAS. My eventual goal is at least getting a BSN, and if I feel like doing homework long enough, an MSN of some sort. I work full time now, but will hopefully only work part time if I get accepted. I'm so antsy to start preparing and finally feel like all of this is real!

OMG!!! i am gone two days and how many people got thier letters? lets see....

mhnice, cthomas, sanne00, susanlj and Masonsmommy!

Congratulations!!!!! you are going to be RNs!!!! i am so jealous right now... still nothing for fort wayne but we all knew that. not til next week.

i am just going to get back to being crazy again...

:lol_hitti

I applied to Indy. I did not receive a letter, but I think I am not going to make it. I have 196 because of my B in ANPII. I also applied to LPN- which I believe those letters will be out June 15th. still hoping for some notice tomorrow.....:plsebeg:

CONGRATS!!

Ok, you had a 210 for Indy right??? I have a 211..where's my letter! I am going to lose it...seriously, I am having these panic attacks...what if I made some stupid clerical error, like forgot my name...or they decided not to take the pre-req I took at IU...

Is there anyone from Indy who didn't get a letter today??????

Seriously though, congrats to all of you who did! Your hardwork has paid off and you deserve it! :yeah:

You can come hang out with me in freak out land. I'll grab you a glass of wine :)

Oh Lennon, you poor thing - we ALL owe you a drink since you started this thread, but still haven't heard!!!

So, where are we all meeting for our celebratory toast?! We could do Rockbottom in downtown Indy, the Brew Pub in Broadripple - or a more central location for you Btown and Evansville ladies! Me, I'm willing to drive anywhere (I'll only have one anyway - old lady, you know!!!!!! Eh, maybe I'll have two tonight, I'm home!)

That would be awesome to meet up like that sometime. Unfortunately the only bit of the Indy area I know at all is how to find the Lawrence campus and the Panera that's a few blocks away lol!

Specializes in Neurology.

Biggest congrats to the early birds that got lucky enough to receive their letters! *wineI hope that all the wonderful folks here gets theirs soon! I wanted to give thanks to everyone for posting there scores and where they applied, it helps those of us who are applying in September to know what to strive for :). TY!TY! and Hang in there!

Masonsmommy,

This is wrong to assume it is their fault. It goes through the admissions committee which is more than one person, and they check thoroughly. I know someone who thought they did everything right, but they did not submit the official transcript from another college. They went to 2 colleges previously and only submitted the last transcript, since they thought their transfer credit would be on the most recent transcript. They needed to submit the transcript from the original college they took the class from.

I am sorry, but anyone that thinks they can protest is incorrect. It was HER fault that she didn't follow the directions.

I got my letter today, and was not shocked to find I didn't get into the RN program. For anyone curious about practical nursing scores--I got into Indy with a 195. Hopefully I can transition right into the RN program after next year!

Well, I suppose I'll retract my previous choice of wording and replace the word "protest" with the word inquire. I do not think it is wrong to call and inquire as to why she did not recieve a letter (if for some reason she ends up not getting one). No matter how thorough they are, they are human and can still make mistakes just as anyone applying can.

That would be awesome to meet up like that sometime. Unfortunately the only bit of the Indy area I know at all is how to find the Lawrence campus and the Panera that's a few blocks away lol!

Maybe we could all have lunch at the Panera after our orientation! :specs:
