Waiting on Ivy Tech acceptance letters thread

Published

I thought it might be nice to have a place for us to vent our frustrations with waiting until May 30th or so when letters start going out. I know I'm going nuts already!

How about introductions and a little info about each person?

I'm applying to both Bloomington and Indy-Lawrence for the Fall 2009 ASN programs. I turned in my apps this week with 4 As on the pre-reqs and a 90.0 on the TEAS. My eventual goal is at least getting a BSN, and if I feel like doing homework long enough, an MSN of some sort. I work full time now, but will hopefully only work part time if I get accepted. I'm so antsy to start preparing and finally feel like all of this is real!

I am still anxiously awaiting a letter from the Fort Wayne campus. I am really excited to find out what happens next and to register for classes. Hopefully, we will get letters today. Does anybody know how they go about registering people for classes? Do people with higher scores get to register first or is it just random? Just curious as to what my chances are of getting into the class times that I want. Good luck to everyone that is watching their mail. Have a great day!!

9 hours until I get to check the mail again. Please please please let it not be empty again

I don't even have my letter yet from Indy Lennon and I got a total of 211, but I got 1 from Greencastle Ivy already. Good luck girl!

Congrats everyone!!

newRN09, you are in the program already, correct? So then maybe you are just very stressed, but it does seem that all of your posts are negative and you only post for the purpose of 'correcting' someone else. Not saying that nobody can ever offer correct information if they feel that someone else gave erroneous information, but to do it in such a negative tone every time is what rubs people the wrong way.

I think this board and website are wonderful and I am glad to have found it and to have joined a group of supportive, informative people. When I first started reading allnurses.com boards, I was not sure I would actually decide to go for nursing, but reading everyone's stories and information on these boards helped me decide to make the big scary career change and go for it. So thanks to everyone here and I will be following you next spring hopefully.

Okay about one more hour before my mailman gets here! Lets hope it comes today!

Masonsmommy,

This is wrong to assume it is their fault. It goes through the admissions committee which is more than one person, and they check thoroughly. I know someone who thought they did everything right, but they did not submit the official transcript from another college. They went to 2 colleges previously and only submitted the last transcript, since they thought their transfer credit would be on the most recent transcript. They needed to submit the transcript from the original college they took the class from.

I am sorry, but anyone that thinks they can protest is incorrect. It was HER fault that she didn't follow the directions.

newRN09, Please, this is a supportive thread. We encourage one another here, please don't berate. Be friendly, polite, and supportive!

Mailman came and gone... still nothing!

For those of you waiting on Columbus letters, I finally broke down and called this morning. She said the letters hadn't even been mailed yet and will not go out until "the end of the month." More waiting - boo.

Congratulations to everybody that got/gets their letters today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:yeah::yeah::yeah:

mhnice, csab and cthomas - you have NO idea how thankful I am that you stepped up and said something to this offensive poster. I didn't feel I deserved a lecture over trying to help Lennon feel better about getting in, and I was really pretty put off by it. I've noticed that person's posts in the past and tried to ignore them, but I REALLY REALLY appreciate your support (I know it wasn't only intended for me) and literally got teary eyed when I saw those this morning just knowing that I will be in school with such wonderful people. Even the way you all said it was so respectful and polite!

:heartbeat

Finally got a hold of someone and they said they were preparing them right now and will mail them out Monday June 1st! aghh! Well atleast it saved me the trips to my mailbox for tomorrow and Monday! Good Luck to everyone else!

Well guys, nothing for me today. Maybe newRN09 is right, maybe I made some stupid mistake. I checked it over and over, turned in all of my transcripts, my Teas scores, everything on the checkoff list was there. I had the administrative assistant look over my app, I applied to both the RN and LPN, and still nothing, so I must have done something so wrong.

And just so you know newRN09, whoever you are, we are all adults and we all do have feelings and don't need to be belittled or corrected by your so called expertise. This is a very exciting time for all of you that are beginning your new journey, so at least have the dececency to congratulate everyone on their efforts. I truly hope that your posts are not an indication of what your bedside manner will be when you are a nurse.

Best of luck to all of you.

Don't give up yet Qtr! You absolutely have the scores for ASN, but didn't someone say LPN acceptance goes out mid June anyway? There's NO way you didn't get into either! I will be thinking of you and hoping Monday is your day.

Qtrhrse - I got in with a 210, so you should be in with a 211. Call the Administrative Assistant. She is very nice, and very thorough. If she checked your application, I'm sure it was just fine. No sense in torturing yourself all weekend. Who knows what happened to your letter, seriously, CALL HER. :icon_hug:
