I am a nervous wreck waiting on whether or not I am accepted to my school's nursing program for this fall 2013, and thought that starting this thread may be able to keep myself and others company..........Please feel free to write anything while we wait.
I applied to one school and was given a #5 alternate spot for their 1 year accelerated program. I took the Kaplan yesterday for a higher score and planned to apply to their regular 2 year BSN program. When I turned in my things the lady asked me what number alternate I was? I told her #5 and she said as of today 4 have decided not to attend the program. She is going to start calling on Monday to fill the spots. SO......I am keeping my fingers crossed that someone before me on the alternate list say no. If so, I am in! I can't stand this, I'm like a kid on Christmas Eve....

Keeping my fingers crossed for you. That's so scary yet exciting!
I am due to start nursing school in August, but I just got a letter that I am an alternate to start in May. I don't know what number I am or how likely it is that I will get a seat early like this but I am suddenly scared! I can pass it up and start in August as planned...but I need to decide and let them know soon. I guess we'll see...
I got my acceptance letter today. I started crying from joy. My son was all confuses on whether I got in or not because of my crying. I'm so excited! I wish all of you the best of luck on your endevour. Don't give up on yourself if this is truly your dream!
I'll be 31 in 3 days. I'm married, former Marine, married to an active duty Marine, and have three children. I have a 4.0 GPA and got an 80 on my Teas. If I can do it, you can too! Keep your heads up!

Awesome!!!! CONGRATS!!!! And thanks for the encouragement :))) I hope to be in your shoes next year
I am nervous as well. I applied to a few ABSN programs however I am only really interested in one. I have an interview for the program next week. This is the first step in a much larger dream. I wish us all the luck.
I am in Northwest Florida and have reached candidate status at our community college (12-18 month waiting list for placement) and submitted my application to the only local BSN program...only 50 spots and I was hoping to have a 3.7 GPA but made out with a 3.54 and an 86 on my TEAS. Application letters by May 17, they say...I just have worked so hard to get to this point and want the effort to pay off.
