If you voluntarily surrendered then you don't have a license anymore. That would be why you can't find work.

Moved to Recovery Forum. From your other posts, I gather you still possess an Iowa license?
Yes iowa with no stips or regs or monitoring. Board is aware. It rendered my compact license a home state only..i guess im considered to much of a risk to hire.

Its my understanding that you would need to report that surrender to Iowa. And if you choose not to, then when you renew, they ask about disciplinary action from other licenses...which a surrender is. So you are going to have to self report to Iowa eventually, unless I am missing something. Was your surrender not listed on the national databases?

Can you please give more information as to your surrender. How can you be unrestricted if you surrendered your license? If you need meaningful answers, provide more info, otherwise you'll get answers such as "yes, seek life elsewhere."

In some areas, finding work is very difficult for people with no black marks on their record. If you have limits to your ability to withstand a negative employment search, you might want to start thinking about a different career, and even then, this could affect your future employment.

No, it seems to be the same everywhere. Save yourself a lot of time and money and instead seek alternative employment

I would be very surprised if your other state licenses are really unrestricted. If one has been revoked/surrendered, the others are sure to follow. It's hard to believe that Iowa wouldn't find out.

Hi. I am also a traveler in TX but from LA. I am at the beginning of this road as of 2 weeks ago. I just posted my 1st entry tonight. I have so many questions. I am considering surrendering my license b/c im in a state where i know no one and now w/o a job. Money was tight before i diverted. How has everything worked out for you? Did you end up getting to do anything out of your home state? Just wanted to ask a traveler. Thanks

Kammi were you able to surrender your license in one state and enter diversion program in your home state? I am in a similar situation

If you surrendered a license in one state, it will put you on the OIG database, which would render you unable to work for any healthcare setting that accepts Medicare/Medicaid regardless of state.
