Visa Bulletin March 2008

Published

Hello. Good day.

With this March visa bulletin schedule, is it possible for me to get a visa?I had my embassy interview last Aug '07 but because of the retrogression no visa issued. My PD is April 2004.

Yes, you have a very good chance. Your PD is earlier than the cut-off date and you are finished with everything already, including the interview. You need to ff-up on the US Embassy and your Atty. if she is still involve in your case up to the end.

But just reminding you that this is for March and not now.

Good luck and update us if you will getting the visa in March or April, ok?

As Lawrence mentioned, these dates are for March 1, and nothing can be done before then. but do suggest that you get in contact with your attorney now to see if there is anything that they need to follow up with beforehand.

Definitely keep us posted.

Thanks for the reply. How about for my wife's visa. She is included in my application but the problem is she is in UAE right now and Im sure she cant come home for that because she just left last month. If ever they will not issue visa for her what will be my next move for her to be able to be with me in the US?And how long will it takes?

As there is already a thread on March's visa bulletin merged the 2

My PD is may 05 and my case is completed and has been at the embassy since last July so i am ever the optamist and hoping in the next few months the VB will move forward a few months again.

Suzanne is correct in saying we should be there but at some point my agency messed my application up and unfortunatly like many others we got left behind, just keeping everything crossed my agency wont mess up any more and of course the VB moves forward a few more months.

Congrats to everyone who will get their GCs after waiting for so long.

Bad news for Indian nurses though with EB3 cut offs hardly moving ahead. If the Phil EB3 moves at this rate, it may very well mean the end of retrogression for them and as Phillipines supplies the majority of nurses there will be no more efforts for recapturing visas either. Recruiters and hospital may actually replace Indian nurses waiting in queue with fresh Filipino nurses as they will take much much shorter time to get to the US.

She will need to be with you for the interview as far as I am aware otherwise no visa will be issued and will delay her in following you to the US

Best if you consult with your lawyer. As far as I know, everyone has to be present and even if they give your wife an immigrant visa even though she is out of the country as I'm presuming she has been interviewed as well already, she has to use it within 6 mos. If one is not able to use it on that time-frame they will consider it abandoned and therefore the visa number re-captured for the use of another one willing to use it. I think the main problem is if your wife's employer in UAE will let her travel out of UAE and let her opt out of her contract. If her employer, keeps her passport as that is the practice of some employers, then whether or not she can get an immigrant visa would not matter much as your wife needs to give her passport to the consul to have it stamped.
