Well that is a lot of sentimental claptrap.
Nursing is MUCH worse than that.
clearly some in the midst of burn out or compassion fatigue will not find nursing to be a rewarding or worthwhile career...doesn't change what nursing is, however...

you caught me leslie...I was feeling a bit "grumpy" after my husband presumed that he needed to direct me in how to load the dishwasher...my apologies.
i'm sure you told him where to stick it/...dishes.
i didn't catch you at anything.
uk's post seriously made me laugh out loud.
and, i could also relate to her truth, as well.

I liked the video, but am I the only person who gets tired of only seeing hospital nurses represented? Nurses work in so many different areas, yet only hospital nursing is represented by videos such as these. What about Home Health Nurses? Public Health Nurses? Office Nurses? Occupational Health Nurses? And all the other specialties I can't think of right now?

From the video tag:
What I've LeaRNed is a nursing video that celebrates the wisdom of nurses, the strength and intelligence of nurses, the intensity of nurses and the grace and humor of nurses. It is about nurses, for nurses, by nurses and features nurses, all of whom are on the nursing staff at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama
Kudos to this Magnet facility for understanding and celebrating nursings essence. Despite the dark days and brutal shifts, its that ONE encounter with a patient at their darkest hour or frightening time that re*energizes you and restores passion in your Nursing..... along with a 2 week vacation.

I'm excited to be back at nursing after taking a long while off.
Very fun video to watch--absolutely little to do with nursing reality now or then. Except the washing your hands and wearing your shoes out.
