anyone else uber anxious to be done?
i feel like i'm not going to have enough energy to make it to graduation. then, i'm afraid of choosing the wrong job, not doing well on nclex, moving to a new place, getting out into the real world and attempting to pay back my huge mound of debt, etc, etc, etc. i also have a wedding to plan in the next year.
anyone else feel like :barf01: ? i can't even put it into words....

Just relax. And welcome to a fascinating career. I suggest looking for a new grad program in an area that interested you in school. Most of the "burned out' threads seem to come from med/surg & LTC RNs.

Yep I am with you all as well.
Its weird but I look back at the previous three semesters and think "wow they were easy compared to this" lol I never thought that before this semester.
I am dreaming several times a week that I am a nurse in various settings. Its like I am so focused on graduating that I can't concentrate on anything else!

i'm totally there and am glad others can relate....i'm soooo burned out, exhausted, don't have the will to go on. I don't want to study, don't want to go to clinical, don't care to go to lecture (and why should i, it's all self-taught at this point). Ahhhh, i'm just so drained...literally, i sleep every chance i get, have cut back my hours at work, and my house looks like a pile of doodoo complete with the film of dust...
thanks for the vent thread, glad i'm not alone
i tell what i could use... :Crash:  :Melody: :Melody:

Yes, I feel your anxiety! I just graduated last night and I cannot tell you the absolute RELIEF that I have felt just in the short time it has been over! You WILL make it, the last few weeks were absolute torture, but you will do it!! It is certainly scary to think about starting a new job, having a lot more resposibility but I try and keep thinking of all the hard work i did to make it here and it will all be worth it in the end! I am frightened to death, but also so excited at the same time. Best wishes to you and hand in there!!

You are singin' my song girlfriend. It's like crawling over hot lava rock to get from one day to the next, definitely got short-timer's going on and I've still got 3 months to go! But on the bright side... I will be turning in my very last careplan this week! THE LAST ONE EVER!
It can only get better from there

Absolutely! You're not alone. I'm tweeking about the anxiety of it all---so much to be done; so many exams, exit exam, NCLEX, etc. etc. etc. :stone :stone

I'm a new grad-graduated in Dec, 05. I remember how you feel. Senior-itis is the perfect term for it. If I had to do ONE MORE CARE PLAN I thought I'd scream. I remember counting the days and being absolutely exhausted.
Just take it one day at a time if you can. You'll make it. I'm sure that most of your class feels the same way.
When you are done, don't be surprised that you may feel "let down". You've been working soooo hard for 2 + years. All of a sudden, you don't have to study and you don't know what to do with all that free time! That feeling passes in a short time.
Then, you worry about the NCLEX. Give yourself a few weeks to study. As soon as you graduate, just start reviewing every night and then you'll feel as ready as you can.
As far as jobs go, no matter what happens you can handle it. If you don't pick the right job off the bat, you can switch usually.
Good luck to you! Hang in there.
