Vanderbilt Pre-Specialty Entry 2021

Published

I noticed there was not a thread created for Vanderbilt pre-specialty nursing for 2021, so I created one. Is anyone already preparing for this upcoming application cycle?

Hey everyone! I applied by the priority deadline, but unfortunately realized my payment never went through. Do you guys think this will have a negative effect on my application? ? I was very excited about this program.

Not sure if anyone ever replied to this, but I was actually in this exact same situation last year ? I submitted my payment late, and they basically told me they couldn’t guarantee anything.
I got waitlisted, which was understandable, then accepted from the waitlist in April!

Wanted to update-I applied mid-January and found out today I was accepted! I'm direct entry but gives hope that they are moving through late apps.

Congrats Megan!!

Does anyone know about the Lettie Pate Whitehead scholarship for female prespecialty?

Did anyone ever hear about whether the full scholarships were already given out?

They have already been awarded....all 3 scholarships. The Dean called the students to inform them

seems like these scholarships are so competitive. I would have loved to have been awarded even a partial (other than what was included in the admission letter).

does anyone know the cost of the prespecilty year? or the total cost of FNP?

The cost of prespecialty year (tuition and fees only, does not include housing): $78,177.

FNP year tuition and fees: $73,209.

These figures came from the financial aid packet sent 1/27/21 “Credit Hours by Semester”

According to Kristie Smith, VUSN Financial Aid Director, tuition is raising by 4.5% next year so it’ll be even more expensive. Cost of attendance for 2 years seems like it will be nearly 200k!

wow thanks. Good to know!

Hi! I just wanted to encourage you guys since I was obsessively monitoring the 2020 forum when applying to the program last year. I was initially waitlisted in 2020, and then got pulled from the waitlist in June and accepted the offer. I have absolutely 0 regrets about coming to Vandy, and have had a really great experience.

So, if you get waitlisted, don't lose hope! And if you were already accepted, congratulations and feel free to reach out if you have any questions ?
