Vanderbilt Pre-Specialty Entry 2021

I noticed there was not a thread created for Vanderbilt pre-specialty nursing for 2021, so I created one. Is anyone already preparing for this upcoming application cycle?

I am also planning on applying for this upcoming cycle!

What specialty are you all thinking about choosing?(:

I am having a hard time deciding between the women's health/adult gerontology or just adult gerontology only.

I am interested in applying to their pediatric primary-care speciality program!

I am going to apply for fall 2021 admission! I plan on applying for the Family NP program.

I am also applying for fall 2021 admission and the FNP program.

Hey all! Planning to apply for the PMHNP program. Thanks for starting the thread. Looking forward to commiserating for at least the next few months here...

Has anyone been able to select Fall 2021 for the term section on the application? It only shows "Fall 2020 (Closed)" for me.

Here is the response I received from the VUSN-Admissions email.....During testing of the application, some problems were discovered. The technical team is working to make corrections and we anticipate that the application will open later this week. As soon as the fall 2021 application is open, we will send another email message. You should not answer application questions, have your electronic transcripts sent or request references until the fall 2021 application is open.

In the meantime, we recommend that:

MSN and PMC applicants review the admission criteria: https://nursing.vanderbilt.edu/admissions/MSN/index.php and the FAQs at https://nursing.vanderbilt.edu/MSN/faq.php

DNP applicants review admission criteria: https://nursing.vanderbilt.edu/admissions/DNP/admissions_req.php

My apologies for the inconvenience.

I am looking at Vanderbilt's Adult Gerontology Primary Care NP program! I love internal medicine, adults and all things related. I work on a PCU and it's all I see, and the A-G population is who I get passionate over. Getting anxious about the application opening later this week since the original Aug 15 opening passed but is now delayed due to technical problems.

Once applications do open can someone walk me through how to select the right thing? Not sure if its up yet but I don't see where I am suppose to select that I want to do their PreSpecialty program.

I attended one of the online admission information sessions and they stated that you are not applying to a "PreSpecialty" program, you are applying to the "MSN" program. Within the application is will ask you, "With what degree are you entering the MSN program" and that is where you will select, "Bachelors degree in a non-nursing field", which tells them your entry.

I encourage everyone to attend one of the admissions online information session, they give you so many tidbits that are very helpful regarding the program and application process, https://apply.vanderbilt.edu/portal/nursing_info_session.
