  1. The scholarships are definitely attainable and there are actually quite a few students who were given the chance to interview for them, but they kind of worked together during that application process; they were not catty or over competitive. I think there is a slightly competitive nature between some of the people who are used to getting 4.0s and may have type A personalities, but there isn’t usually any negativity behind that. They just want to be the best they can! Ultimately, a lot of students choose not to discuss their scores, but they may start to once they get close to other students. Vandy teachers also post class test averages, which are usually 90s and above… that kind of gives a competition feel to the program as well, but as long as you’re passing, you can always brush those feelings off!
  2. I was able to complete my nutrition prerequisite over the Summer before the semester started for fall of 2020! They should be flexible.
  3. Hey! When you graduate you will have a MSN degree. You will receive your RN license at the end of the 1st year, aka Prespecialty year, after passing the NCLEX. The second year is working towards receiving your APRN licensure. So you will have attained a RN and APRN license in 2 years, with a MSN degree, instead of a BSN.. (MSN vs BSN -- it doesn't matter for RNs, same work and pay. Though a MSN is MANDATORY for APRNs) The licenses you have after the program: RN & APRN The degree you have after the program: MSN Unrestricted just means good standing, as far as I know. I hope that makes sense and wasn't too much info! & so YES you will qualify for those jobs requiring RN (ANDDDD) APRN licenses ?
  4. Not sure if anyone ever replied to this, but I was actually in this exact same situation last year ? I submitted my payment late, and they basically told me they couldn’t guarantee anything. I got waitlisted, which was understandable, then accepted from the waitlist in April!
  5. I posted this in the student NP section, but I’m not sure if all can see... ? Hi everyone! I’m a Pediatric Primary Care NP student currently in search of a preceptor for the Spring (Jan-April) & Summer (May-July) semesters of 2022. I can have a different preceptor for each semester or the same one the entire time. I’m open to going anywhere — I’m most familiar with Chicago & Baltimore areas. I’d really appreciate recommendations! Small clinics are ideal. A primary care setting within the hospital is fine. Can be NP, MD, DO, or PA working in primary care Should currently specialize in pediatrics or see at least 10 pediatric patients per day Provides HANDS ON experience Super excited to make new connections!! ?

  7. They are still pairing incoming and current students! Email your admissions counselor.
  8. I have 10 days to accept or decline the admission. I got my acceptance letter Tuesday the 7th, & I have to respond by the 17th... actually, while speaking to a director (I think that’s who she was) over the phone, she said I had two weeks, the official letter said otherwise.
  9. So they specifically mentioned my hometown (Chicago), and I told them that I would definitely be interested. It was explained that we would have to do our first year on campus, for sure... and then our second year would be at the location we chose (as long as it’s possible), with a few in person seasons per semester during our second year.
  10. I received a voice mail (never even received the call ?) at 9am, then an email at 10am. I called back around 12, she verified that I was willing to complete the second year at a distance, and then told me I should be receiving an acceptance letter later in the day. I received the letter around 5pm!
  11. I just received my acceptance off the waitlist! Pre specialty for PNP-PC
  12. I appreciate this so much. Needed to read it
  13. Sent the request! Last name is Matthews
  14. Is there a facebook group or any type of group chat where we can all connect?
  15. Definitely worried! I wanted to do some kind of soft walk through beforehand... IDK how that will be possible... I’m also worried there may be a later start date.
