For prospective applicants for the 2017 year in the program. Being as I am currently wait listed in the 2016 year due to a very late application, there is a high probability I would have to apply again come November 1st 2016 for the following year acceptance.

November 1st, 2016 is the priority application deadline for the 2017 year. All materials (GRE, official transcripts, application payment, letters of recommendation, statement of intent) must have been submitted by this date.

Letters of acceptance for August 2016 orientation and start were sent out the first week of February 2016. Wait listed recipients received their wait list offer in an around the first week of March 2016 with the caveat that seats may open well into late July.

They told me first two weeks of Feb.

Weird they also told me February but didn't specify when in February.

They told me early February.

Did anyone who applied to the ASN to MSN in PMHNP or any other programs heard anything yet?

Early February is next week! :nurse:

Just called admissions (I'm getting fidget-y), and asked about any updates they had on decisions being released for the midwifery program. They said that we will know by the first week of March or sooner, and then she checked my application and said that I will definitely know by March or sooner. Can't tell if that's a good or bad thing? Really hoping it's sooner rather than later :)

For those who have called admissions, were you able to ask them about your application status and look your application up, if it's still under review or etc.?

I don't think that's something that they're willing or able to do. If they did, they'd be swamped with calls all day every day asking for everyone's personal app status. Unless you mean that you are just now trying to submit it and want to make sure they have all the documents, but that is easy to access in the online application portal.

I know now it sucks to wait; I'm super antsy too. But we're all just going to have to wait until we get the email saying an update has been made to our applications. Will be Feb-March.

Based on previous years' threads, people have been getting mixed responses from the admission regarding the status of their applications. Some were told the generic "decisions will be out by mid February/early March," and some were told whether their applications were still in review or not.

While typing this comment, I received an email from Kristie Smith-VUSN financial aid coordinator, about financial aid information packet. I believe this is one of the routine emails sent out to everyone who's interested in one of VUSN programs.

Groundhog day is about a week away and I am curious to see what the groundhog will say about this year's spring and climate change. Oh and the decisions from VUSN.

has anyone else received an email regarding financial aid?

The financial aid email from VUSN explicitly states, You are receiving this information because you either expressed an interest in our program or applied for admission. Receiving this information does not indicate admission to our program.

I too have a visceral discomfort waiting on the results :/ BUT I try to keep calm & carry on! As hard as it is, worrying about the application will not change the application result. I feel strongly that VUSN will inform us directly of any application decision delays. We can wait it out a little longer without driving ourselves insane! :nurse:

Did anyone applying for the pre-specialty & FNP track receive any updates/interview requests? I've heard absolutely nothing from the school until today, and that was a routine e-mail regarding financial aid. I just spoke to Sandy and she told me that my application is "under review." I did submit my application by November 1, which baffles me even more that they just started reviewing my application NOW when some of the applicants for other specialties even went through interviews already.:( She told me that the decisions will be going out in early March(!) which is later than the time frame quoted by Bernie (February). I followed last year's thread and it seems like the FNP applicants began to find out about their admission decision starting from the first week of February. I'm annoyed because I've been accepted to another program that begins in May (which is my second choice after Vanderbilt) and the deposit for that program is due by March 1. Not to mention figuring out housing (I'm in California) and applying for loans!
