For prospective applicants for the 2017 year in the Vanderbilt MSN program. Being as I am currently wait listed in the 2016 year due to a very late application, there is a high probability I would have to apply again come November 1st 2016 for the following year acceptance.

November 1st, 2016 is the priority application deadline for the 2017 year. All materials (GRE, official transcripts, application payment, letters of recommendation, statement of intent) must have been submitted by this date.

Letters of acceptance for August 2016 orientation and start were sent out the first week of February 2016. Wait listed recipients received their wait list offer in an around the first week of March 2016 with the caveat that seats may open well into late July.

Did y'all just get an email from financial aid today? I didn't receive anything and now I'm worried they didn't get my info...

I got the Kristy Smith email too. So mystifying.

is everyone getting the emails in the same specialty?

I received the financial email as well and applied to the pediatric primary care program. I think everyone that applied, regardless of program, is getting the email.

I received the financial aid email as well.

Breathe, guys! Breathe!

Was in your shoes last year and I know how on edge you are waiting to hear.

YES, the email you got from Kristie is a standard form email that went to EVERY applicant who indicated they will be interested in using Financial aid. It is NOT an indication of your admission status.

Give the faculty time. They are working on putting together a cohort of highly qualified and extremely intelligent, diverse students. They are also dealing with the current students and the changes at the university. The university and the medical center are no longer part of the same entity and there are lots of details to work out. There are SO many moving parts going on behind the scenes. They will give you admission decisions as SOON as they have them done. The faculty here are EXCELLENT communicators.

Hang in there!

And btw - I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU START A FACEBOOK GROUP. It is a much easier and more widely used resource. You might even get current students in there to help answer questions.

A Facebook group sounds like a great idea!

Good idea, midwifeminded!

Everyone, I've created a group.... feel free to join!

If that link doesn't work for whatever reason, the name of the group is "Vanderbilt MSN Hopefuls 2017"

Thanks for creating this!

So, I cannot access FB (but I will as soon as I get off lol). Obviously I have not received an email, but I wonder if this is because I already filled out the FAFSA online when I completed the application? Did anyone that received an email already complete their FAFSA?

Kinda starting to freak out over here

Regardless of the financial aid email, I contacted them yesterday and they said the first week of March or sooner, FYI

Is the wait killing anyone else?

I interviewed 1/11 for psych. They said second to third week of February.
