For prospective applicants for the 2017 year in the Vanderbilt MSN program. Being as I am currently wait listed in the 2016 year due to a very late application, there is a high probability I would have to apply again come November 1st 2016 for the following year acceptance.

November 1st, 2016 is the priority application deadline for the 2017 year. All materials (GRE, official transcripts, application payment, letters of recommendation, statement of intent) must have been submitted by this date.

Letters of acceptance for August 2016 orientation and start were sent out the first week of February 2016. Wait listed recipients received their wait list offer in an around the first week of March 2016 with the caveat that seats may open well into late July.

yep i'm dying with anticipation!! I interviewed back on 12/8 for pre-specialty dual CNM/FNP and vandy is my top choice. Any unoccupied time I have is consumed with worrying about hearing back from different schools!

So did any pre-specialty FNP applicants do interviews yet?? Or are we one of the specialties that don't have interviews/get them really late? I don't know if I should just give up at this point if I have not heard anything back from the school about interviews...:sorry:

Hi all! I also applied for the FNP track and have heard nothing. I'm a little surprised they would not do interviews, but it seems they may want to be filling the more "specialty" tracks before working on FNP? The wait is truly torture! :nailbiting:

I know at another school I applied to they don't interview FNP because there are so many applicants. Maybe Vandy is the same?

The general consensus seems to be that they do not interview FNP applicants. They may if they want to clarify something on your app, but generally they do not interview.

Hey everyone- I've been on the sidelines for awhile now. I applied for the pre-specialty Midwifery/FNP dual-track. I had only one interview- back in December. I think it went ok, although I was absolutely shaken with nerves and know I slipped a few times. Alas, I am human. I got a little discouraged, but I think I am a competitive candidate. Is it normal to only have one interview? I saw that some people had two. Please advise.

I recently had an opportunity to shadow a midwifery graduate and I was so impressed with their ability and confidence. It sold the program for me, for sure. Anyway, just wanted to chime in. I am so nervous about hearing this month. Vanderbilt is my very first choice! Good luck everyone and cheers!

I haven't seen anyone that's had two interviews for the same program. I think you're in the clear! Also, feel free to join the facebook group if you haven't already: Log into Facebook | Facebook

Hey embug24! If you don't mind me asking, what all did they ask in your interview for peds primary care?

Hi! She just really asked like why how I decided pediatrics and if I had any questions about the program. But then she told me that there weren't any clinical openings in Nashville so I'd have to live outside the Nashville area. So if I get accepted I'm going to move to the Tampa Area to complete my clinicals. Are you direct entry peds primary too? What all was said in your interview?

Hey Vandy hopefuls, has anyone called admissions in the last couple of days? Just wanted to see if there were any updates to the admissions timeline! Thanks!

They told me mid February and no later than early March for "Early Action" applications (complete & submitted by Nov. 1st).

I interviewed for the pre-specialty PMHNP program back in January and they told me around the second week of February.
