Hello,
I am applying for the MSN program in '15, due in December. I was wondering if anyone knew how much weight the GRE holds, in regards to being competitive? I am a little nervous about my scores not being competitive. Any advice will help!
Best regards,
Given your username, bostons, I'm suspecting you applied to a few Boston schools?
I did, but it is totally coincidental. Its actually just the title of a song I really like. I applied to Simmons, MGH, and Seattle University. I was going apply at BC as well but they have the pathophysiology prereq and schools in my area didn't offer it by the time applications were due.
Why does it worry you? It kinda bothers me, simply because I feel that people going into a psych specialty should be screened prior to admission to make sure they are in good mental health themselves.
That's partly it. I was so surprised since I thought they always interviewed for psych - my outlandish explanation was that maybe there are a handful of spots open and maybe only a few applicants were any good so admissions said "Sweet, we're all done here, no interviews needed." Or, more likely, they skipped interviews since psych generally has fewer applicants than other specialties anyway.
Congrats! Not sure what I'll choose at the moment. I really want to go to Columbia but we will not find out about that until mid-Feb... which is past the deadline to decide for this school
Unfortunately, the deadline to accept admission is January 30th. I am also waiting for Columbia, UPenn, Yale, Duke, and John Hopkins, which all release decisions after February. I am thinking about asking for an extension of a week or two, and if that isn't an option, I will pay the deposit and lose the $200 if I decide to go somewhere else. But I hear Nashville is really nice, and I am so relieved that I got in somewhere!
