UWorld RN prep.. Is it reliable?

I am scheduled to take the NCLEX-RN on June 28th, 2016.

I'm freaking out and wanting your opinion.

I completed the Kaplan live review & 60% of the qbank with an average score of 71.

I completed the Hurst live review and completed the specialty topics in the book on my own. I have reviewed the entire Hurst book once more, and wrote down the things I felt I needed to be stronger with.

Now, I have purchased UWorld and taking about 100 questions a day/5 days a week. I am scoring mostly mid-60s, my low being a 55 and my high being a 68. UWorld says I'm in the 85th percentile compared to the average.

I am not sure if I should feel confident with this or if UWorld simply is leading me to be more confident than I should be... and I am not as prepared as I need to be.

What do y'all think about UWorld?

Should I continue my study plan with it or integrate Kaplan/Hurst back into the plan?

Thank you for your reply! I have sifted through most threads on here about UWorld, yet I still am slightly worried that it could be misleading me into confidence. This is such a stressful test! I know we all get through it, but dang. It sucks lol

uWorld is fabulous. A number of my students at the school I'm attending that graduating this past May used uWorld, and have passed the NCLEX-RN their first try. I've been using it ongoing as a nursing student, and find it very helpful.

Agreed with everyone else here. I finished the whole qbank at a lower percentile than you (75th). I was extremely nervous going into my test wondering if UWorld was enough to pass. When I saw that the test looked exactly like UWorld, down to the blue and white color scheme, I immediately relaxed and answered questions with the same level of confidence I had during my practice exams. I didn't leave the exam feeling like I had completely bombed it either, which actually worried me at first since so many people do. I ended up passing at 75 questions! I'm sure you will do amazing.

With those scores, you are sure to pass.

Thank you all for your confidence! I am very hopeful that I'm on the right track. I really don't like Kaplan compared to UWorld now that I have done both!

While I still feel that Hurst was valuable, from what I'm hearing from others, UWorld is better than Kaplan for practice questions to prepare you.

I think I'll stick with UWorld until my test date!

Are you a part of the uworld Facebook group? Everyday I see a lot of people posting that they passed nclex with uworld. There are even repeat testers that said they tried everything to pass and uworld is the only thing that worked. I'm scheduled to test June 29th. I'm pretty nervous about it. I'm using uworld mainly and nclex mastery app.

Actually, I don't have a Facebook! (I know. I'm one of the very few of this generation lol)

I'm still solely doing lots of questions with UWorld, I really like it! I'm hopeful it pays off next Tuesday!

I don't have Facebook either. I'm sure you'll do just fine nxt Tue. I still got 4 wks to go hoping & it pays off.

I have never seen anyone on these boards report using UWorld and failing. I used UWorld almost exclusively, didn't even finish all the questions, and I passed in 75 questions first try on June 15th. I cannot stress the importance and usefulness of UWorld enough to anyone preparing for NCLEX. (I say "almost" exclusively because my school mandatorily had us take Hurst... But it was in the beginning of April and I never flipped through the book after the live review or accessed their QBank)

Just to update you all, my friend took her NCLEX Thursday afternoon, and her license number was posted on the BON website by Friday evening! (Pearson Vue trick worked for her, but the pearson vue quick results "weren't available" before the license number was posted.)

She and I have used the exact same things to study with, and make comparable scores. So hopefully this is a good sign! I'm continually taking these UWorld questions and writing down what I need to refresh on! I will keep you all updated!

I did about 1400 questions on UWorld before my NCLEX and had a 59% (78th percentile) overall and passed in 75 questions. I also used the NCLEX mastery app and read the 35 page guide. Good luck next week!
