UTMB Summer '09 Applicants

WOW nice GPA. I was also told March 13th would be the day for interviews and that this week or next would be the period in which emails go out for interviews. I've been checking my email non stop. Good Luck to everyone.

Thanks. That is what I have been told as well. I have also been checking my e-mails non-stop, and that is what I have also been told that March 13 is the date the interviews will be held. I am worried as we have exactly 2 weeks from this date.

I'm excited and anxious. I keep checking my e-mail. Does anyone know how many applicants applied for this application period, and how many will be accepted? Hopefully we hear something today!!! :w00t:

March 13th is sooo close! I called yesterday and spoke to a lady regarding emails being sent out and she said that they weren't sent out yet, and we should receive them by next week. I hope we all get interviews. I am also curious about the applicant pool and how many get accepted. And that is an AWESOME GPA abandookwala. let's all stay hopeful!!

I just spoke to someone at UTMB, got the message that the committee is meeting again on monday, and should expect e-mails from tuesday on......I also know that the number of applicants they are accepting is 45. I do not know how big the pool is. Also the orientation I believe is scheduled for May 1st. Does anyone know what kind of questions they will be asking in the interview?

I don't know for sure what kind of questions they will ask, but after reading other utmb posts I have an idea.

They will probably ask things like, why do you want to be a nurse? Why do you want to attend UTMB? What are your career goals? etc....

I wish I knew more. I need to PRACTICE!!

Hmm i got a interview last fall for the spring lets see if i can remember questions...

1. Why you want to be a nurse.

2. Why do you want to attend UTMB.

3. Future Goals

4. How would you express your frustration (like problems with tasks, problems with how things are done)

5. How do you react when someone criticizes you

6. Your best/worst quality

7. If you have ever worked around Feces/Urine (haha did this stump me)

8. How you manage your time

9. How you study..

10. If you have a support system

If you want I can sort of list my answers if i remember them correctly..

Also my interview lasted Maybe 10-15 minutes....

I hear on this forum people stating oh my gosh my interview lasted 45 mins...

I think thats great and all but not crucial so dont get to worried about how long it lasts just how you answer your questions :-p

Also i was interviewed by 2 ladies they took turn asking questions.

I came out feeling like i did horrible (but hey i got accepted :-p)

Sorry I don't remember all the questions >.

Congrats on getting accepted. Do you know how competitive the BSN generic is? Hopefully it works out, because the only way I have a chance at TWU or UT-Houston is if I retake a few classes. I don't mind retaking the classes, but I'd rather not (if you know what I mean). I also applied for the UTMB fall '09 semester if for some reason the summer doesn't work out. I want them to know that I am persistant. Thanks again for the interview tips!!!!

That's a lot of great information. I have been kind of forcing myself not to get on the internet since I found out they would be sending out interview emails next week, but I couldn't help it. I am very anxious and hope I get in. Those interview tips and questions are great..and I will also DEF use them if I get an interview. Congrats on your acceptance. Can you please tell us more about the program? (how difficult, studying time, social life...etc) This will help!

Haha Doh...

Those are just the interview questions... I myself do not attend, I think i stated it in a earlier post.. I chose to go to UTHSCSA instead when choosing between UTMB and UTHSCSA.

I can tell you how my life is in San Antonio if you'd like but I dont know how both of the programs compare to each other.

P.S. I was accepted into the Bacc2 in both schools but I decided not to go to UTMB b/c most of their theory classes were online classes and I myself think I learn better with teaching thus i chose UTHSCSA
