  1. I'm sorry you are going elsewhere. I know its been frustrating but to be honest they all seem that way to me. I think they get overwhelmed by all the applications, phone calls and emails because everyone wants in and they only have so many spots. I thought the same of UT-Houston because they tell you one thing in the information session and base their decisions on something else. I think with the hurricane that just made UTMB's situation that much more difficult to work around. I hope you success in wherever you decide to go. I have been trying for two years to satisfy all the requirements for different school and I'm taking this chance because I think it will get worse in terms of getting in anywhere.
  2. I am sooo relieved now. I checked my email and nothing but I went to the UTMB econnect website and I got an acceptance. I hit YES!!! Still no email which is weird but who cares :)
  3. Wow Congratulations to the guys that have been accepted. I haven't heard anything yet. I'm still hoping tomorrow will be the magic day. Has everyone that posted under this thread been accepted?
  4. So Bazooka do you think we will here anything this week if we are in or not? The two women that interviewed me said first week of April. I finally got my rejection letter from UTHSC-Houston. Not surprised. Net score too low to compete and didn't take it over like I should have.
  5. Just curious how the Spring 2009 at UTMB is going? Do you like the schedule and are you able to do your clinicals close to home? I applied for Summer 2009 program and they said they would let us know by end of March being of April and program starts May 4. So I will have a month to quit my job but I have to find someone first, train them then I can leave. ARe your books expensive?
  6. Hey Paulpular83, I'm just curious; what was your first semester schedule at UTMB? Someone told me you only go to class about 3 days a week then you have 2 days of clinicals off campus but your first semster you don't do clinicals until about the 5th week. How close is that from reality?
  7. I don't know how I got sooo lucky and had two people interviewing me. I can't even remember their names because I was soo busy as we were walking to their office thinking OK when you are meeting with two people don't just look at one person the whole time bring both of them in on your conversation. YIKES!! I think it went OK. I just remember one question "So do you have backup plans in case you don't get into the program?" WHAT NOT GET IN?? All I could think of in my head was "Please don't do that to me, please give me a chance". Some other questions I remember are: What are your strong attributes? What are your weak attributes? Do you have a support system and if so who are they? What was your most stressful situation and how did you handle it? After I was done, the two ladies escorted me back to the meeting room and said I could sit and enjoy continental breakfast they provided so I did and that's when I met & started talking to some other women that were interviewers. One told me that they were interviewing about 40 people but they were going to call more in for interview at a later date and that they were going to take a total of 60 people. She said they still had applications to review. So there is for sure hope for those that didn't get interviews yet. Well I guess we will wait and see what happens from here. Hey Bazooka, what is the schedule for the first semester? You said 14 hours. One of the ladies interviewing me said that our first semester would probably be Monday-8:30 to 4:30 then Tues: 1-2 hours then either Wed or Thurs would be lab on campus then you would do your clinicals at whatever hospital they assign you. She said not too many clinical positons are available on the island so those that live on the island would probably get those first then everyone else would get other hospitals either in Clear Lake, medical center, st. joseph and she named other hospitals I havent even heard of.
  8. Hey Bazooka I didn't get your email.
  9. Hey thyunhle say hi to me when you get done because I will be right after you at 10:30. I'll be the only old lady waiting for an interview that I've been waiting for what seems like forever. LOL
  10. Hey Bazooka, since your interview is at 2:30 and mine is at 11:30 do you want to try and meet up somewhere around 12:00-12:30?? I think interviews are suppose to last 30 minutes each. There's an open area with sitting when you first walk in the nursing building, or at least back in July there was. My email at work is [email protected] if your interested or anyone else interested in meeting up.
  11. Wonderful, I received mine too. Looking forward to seeing what Galveston looks like compared to when I went to information session back in July 2008 before IKE. Good Luck to everyone on their interviews. Hopefully we will be able to see each other on a regular basis in the near future.
  12. Hey I just got a reply to the email I sent ***** ******* this morning. she said confirmations for interviews will go out Monday.
  13. Have you already taken Patho? I'm taking it online at SanJac.
  14. My interview is at 11:30.
  15. Hey Bazooka, did you read all the postings from the UTHSC-Houston's thread about them receiving over 1000 applications for their Fall program and interviewing 400 of them for only having 60 spots. I'm am happy we have interview with UTMB. I just don't think I could compete with that kind of pool.
