UTMB Spring 2012

Hey Guys!

I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread for all UTMB Galveston's Spring 2012 traditional bsn applicants. Have you all started to apply yet or at least looked at the application? What do you think? How are your personal statements/testing going? If you guys have anything worth discussing please post and good luck to all!

That sucks because my science was a 57 and now i have to take this test over which im not happy about. Hope no one is applying to TWU because they only let you test once so this would disqualify us all. On UTMB website they list an 58 percent minimum composite score. They should have posted that they wanted 58% on each category. I scheduled to take it tomorrow because they only have June 7 and the 15 at the West location.

Well, I hope I get some "brownie points" from "the nursing gods in the sky" lol for telling ya'll this information and possibly not getting a spot now that everyone knows to retake the test if they scored low. Just kidding if it is meant to be for me, it will happen either way! Good luck to everyone!

Has everyone taken all of their pre reqs already or are y'all still in progress? I only have chemistry remaining and I'm taking it this summer.

I finished all pre- req's this Spring semester! I just need to retake the Teas today because I'm hearing they want 58% in all categories. Wishing everyone good luck! The deadline is in a couple of days.

i'm in the same boat and i spoke with the advisor yesterday and she said that our applications will be viewed even with a sectional score lower than a 58. i'm just guessing that it's the overall score less than a 58 is when our applications would not have been viewed. anyways, i don't think i'm going to retake my test. i have an overall competitive score and i don't want to risk that just to get a 58. i wish the best of luck to those who are and to all other applicants. we should be hearing about interviews in mid july.

yes i hate how they didn't even let us know that at the beginning and now when they do we all are getting different answers. so did they tell you that if we have a sectional score lower than a 58 our application will not be viewed?

Hey y'all! I'm applying to UTMB for spring 2012...is anyone going to the open house this weekend (6/11)? I got a bit of a late start on my application stuff and just took the TEAS a few days ago. Luckily I have my test scores back already! Does anyone know how long it takes for the school to receive your test scores and if there's any way to look something like that up online? Also, has anyone noticed on the UTMB website the spring 2012 BSN app. deadline says June 15 but on NursingCAS the deadline says July 15? I'm counting on it being sooner rather than later, but it'd just be nice to know!

Your teas scores are available immediately. Check ur ATI account. Utmb ahould get them within a couple days.

for those of you who have already submitted an application what does your mystar state? mine says application complete then under my to do list it lists my transcripts as active and my teas scores as initiated. does everyone's say that or is it just mine?

Mine states that my application is 'incomplete' and states my transcripts as 'Courses In Progress' and to send an official was those are completed....I am in summer courses and they will not be done until mid august! Makes me wonder if someone screwed something up. I am pretty sure mine should say complete. I am going to call tomorrow to find out what is up. I called before, when it stated incomplete, and it was because they had not scanned in my transcripts or TSI information and TEAS scores to my application. Both my transcripts and TEAS scores were there before my application.

I just do not want some crazy mistake to be the reason I don't get in!!!
