UTMB Spring 2012

Hey Guys!

I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread for all UTMB Galveston's Spring 2012 traditional bsn applicants. Have you all started to apply yet or at least looked at the application? What do you think? How are your personal statements/testing going? If you guys have anything worth discussing please post and good luck to all!

I did alot better but I'm scared that my Science score isn't good enough because it's a 62%!

mine states that my application is 'incomplete' and states my transcripts as 'courses in progress' and to send an official was those are completed....i am in summer courses and they will not be done until mid august! makes me wonder if someone screwed something up. i am pretty sure mine should say complete. i am going to call tomorrow to find out what is up. i called before, when it stated incomplete, and it was because they had not scanned in my transcripts or tsi information and teas scores to my application. both my transcripts and teas scores were there before my application.

i just do not want some crazy mistake to be the reason i don't get in!!!

mine says the same thing regarding my transcripts except that my application states complete...i really don't know what that means. i hope my application is actually "complete" and that it's not a mistake. i think i'm going to call them tomorrow as well. :confused:

Its so frustrating :banghead: I am going to call AND email them at enrollment services. Don't bother leaving a message on their voicemail...I have left 2 and have yet to recieve a phone call back!!!

I just want to know already and its not even past the dern deadline! My husband is wanting to book a cruise for August but I fear that it will fall on a possible interview date!!! AHHHHH

hi rocket_ryder! i know how you feel because i personally can't wait for the application deadline to close. i don't even know how they make decisions to accept students. i have a friend who got accepted with a 3.1 gpa and a 74 on the teas, but then a classmate didn't get accepted even with a 90 on the teas and a 3.6 gpa.

I also agree and from reading the Fall 2011 posts its best we all call make sure everything is accepted and sent over to the SON. When the deadline closes it's going to be more anticipating waiting. I wish everybody good luck

that gives me hope :) my 2.98 gpa sucks but i am hoping my 90.7% overall on my teas with a 91.2% in my science will pull me through!!! 7 more days and then its closed and we will all be one step closer to the rest of our lives!!! :)

I don't really understand this MyStar thing. It says that my application is complete but no where does it say anything about my transcripts which should already be on file (I've applied in the past) but I resent just in case. Has anyone figured this out because I can't get a hold of enrollment services.

I went to the open house yesterday and the first speaker who reviews all applications said that yes the minimum is a 58% composite but if there are s ores in reading or science that are lower than that, like a 50, you would not be admitted because nursing school consists of so much reading and is all about science. It was said if those two scores were low that showed that those areas needed to be developed more before entering into a program where those 2 areas are the most important.

They also said interviews should begin in September and letters will start going out in October! 3 months until the ball gets rollin'! : )

Thank You so much for the information! I wish the interviews were a little earlier than September but oh well lol. Do you have any other information regarding teas/gpa/admissions in general?

That is really late for interviews and acceptance letters. I had a friend this past semester (she applied for fall) the app close date was feb 15th and had a interview invite by beginning of April and acceptance by end of April.

I have been told interview invites should start going out late July and Interviews are to start in August.

can anyone get through to the enrollment services office? I am calling and its ringing off the hook, but no answer! Ugh....
