Hey Guys!
I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread for all UTMB Galveston's Spring 2012 traditional bsn applicants. Have you all started to apply yet or at least looked at the application? What do you think? How are your personal statements/testing going? If you guys have anything worth discussing please post and good luck to all!
Keep hanging in there... Don't give up hope... Maybe you just need to stay on them like you have been. My GPA is 3.4, which is moderate, but my TEAS was 74.9%. You made way better on your TEAS than that. There's no reason you shouldn't be getting accepted. Many people have to repeat classes... I've got at least 4 drops on my transcript, which is not good! I've repeated several classes from my first semester in which I made all W's an F, and one I. Just stay on them. Keep calling and believing that you should have a spot too. I've heard of people that were not accepted who called back up there and spoke directly with the dean, wanting to know why exactly they weren't accepted, after which they were. Stay determined and keep calling!
*There was a double negative in there, however, just to be clear: There's no doubt that you should be getting accepted!
Twoy83, my second interviewer told me the reason that I was getting interviewed a second time was becuase my first interviewer really liked me but was concerned about a couple of my grades, so she "flagged" my app. However, I let her know that I'm retaking those 2 classes this semester and have A's now, which is why I think I got accepted. You have a second interview next week right? good luck and let us know how it goes!
Don't lose hope!! I repeated courses as well, took A&P I 3x, A&PII 2x and had an entire semester with Fs in important pre-reqs (i had to explain that in my essay and again in my interview). If you don't get accepted, and this is truly your dream, then never, ever give up!!!! I first looked @ UTMB SEVEN years ago. Getting my BSN was so important to me and I refused to quit!! Life is too short to give up on what your heart truly desires!!!

Thanks for the encouragement guys! It made me feel much better. :) I guess i'll just have to take this week as it comes and see what happens.
hi i wish u guys luck. how long did it take for ur teas exam score to reach admission at utmb
Mine didn't, on their own. I had to hound ATI and UTMB before my scores appeared. Mystar was saying incomplete for moths, so I finally called and come to find out, they didn't have record of my scores, so my app was being considered incomplete.
Ok Guys today is supposed to be a big day for those of us who haven't heard anything. They're supposed to have another meeting today to consider applicants for acceptance and interviews. So hopefully we'll be receiving some very good news shortly (fingers crossed) Let's keep our heads up and faith strong!
