UTMB Spring 2012

Hey Guys!

I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread for all UTMB Galveston's Spring 2012 traditional bsn applicants. Have you all started to apply yet or at least looked at the application? What do you think? How are your personal statements/testing going? If you guys have anything worth discussing please post and good luck to all!

I could have sworn that at the open house *** mentioned that they had barely started receiving SOME applications but just this week. And I also thought she said that interview invites would start heading out by late July. Didn't she say all that or did I hear wrong??

She told me they expect invites to go out mid to late July in an email I sent her a couple weeks back... I am planning on emailing her again to recheck and to see if my app has made it over to SON yet.

I got a response... They have my application!!! YAY! She also said that they anticipate interview invites to start going out within the next couple of weeks :)

Did you email or call? I'd like to check on mine. I sent an email weeks ago to enrollment services but haven't heard back yet.

I emailed **** from the SON and heard back within hours

Thanks. I emailed her weeks ago and she just gave me a number to call.

Hmmmm...thats odd. Maybe it was because she had no way of checking on it a few weeks ago when it was in enrollemtn services. Maybe you should try again now that they are starting to recieve apps from enrollment services.

They have my application as well! I emailed **** and she emailed back saying that the SON had received my application on July 8 and that it will be presented to the admissions committee within the next couple of weeks and that IF I'm selected for an interview then I will be emailed.

I aslo emailed the School of Nursing and i received email from the lady mentioned in the previous post and it turns out they have also received my application and i hoping we start seeing Interviews real soon.

Hello everyone. I have been following the thread. I applied to the BSN program as well. I have called the SON and they have received my application. I was also told that they recently finished selecting applicants for the August BSN program and would not start interviewing for the spring BSN program until after the fall classes start. I see there is a lot of different information on here so I wanted to add what I was told.

I have a hard time believing that they are going to wait that long to start interviews. My friend applied for the fall back in January (with the Feb 15th deadline) and she had an interview invite by beginning of April ( 1 1/2 months after deadline) and was accepted by mid April. So that was only a total of 2 months after the deadline.... If they follow that timeline somehat we would see interview invites around end of july/begining of August and acceptance letters before the end of August.

I really hope that they don't wait until the fall semster starts to do intverviews or someone else is going to miss out on a fall ADN program because I WILL start something!!! Not to mention it will cost me about a grand! On the bright side it will give me a head start if I get in...

I heard september-October originally too so I guess we will just see what happens! I'm hoping it'll be sooner rather than later so we can see what the future holds for all of us!
