Hi everyone! Just thought I'd start a thread for those who are applying to UTMB for Fall 2011. There are some really great (and long!) threads out there for Spring 2011 and earlier...but as I'm sure y'all know, the application process can change from cycle to cycle, plus it's just nice to have a new thread for us. :) So feel free to post questions, comments, or anything related to applications!
I'm applying as a second-degree student to UTMB, UTHSC, TWU (Houston), UT Arlington and A&M, plus maybe the new Texas State program. Whew! I keep hearing great things about UTMB so that might be my #1....
A question to start us off: so we can now use either the centralized NursingCAS application, or the application through UTMB, right? What are you all going to do? I'm thinking of just doing UTMB's direct application....if you do NursingCAS, I think you'll have to do a supplemental UTMB application+fee anyway, so you might as well just do it all once...thoughts?
I'm wondering, if they will accept 110 for the fall yet, only 77 are interviewing they must go back into the applicant pool and interview those who did not meet that criteria?

I was at the open house this morning at UTMB. They are excepting 110 for the Fall, 80 or 90 for BACC2 in January. They had 1,200 applications for the traditional, rn-bsn and msn. They are initially interviewing 77 people. They only had 88 applicants that had higher than a 70 on the teas and over a 3.0 gpa (but kicked out 11 applications that were missing information). They will do 2nd round interviews in a few weeks. THIS IS COMING DIRECTLY FROM THE ASSISTANT DEAN. I was there for a 3 hour orientation about the school. They will early accept BACC2 if you have a 3.5 gpa and over 70 on teas (and a degree).
Thanks for the info Tiki. Maybe I'll be second cut, though I make those mark?? Is that 3.0 a cumulative GPA?
Thank you so much for the info, The Tiki! According to those numbers I should make first cut!!! :) Here's hoping they just haven't finished sending the first round of emails.
The associate dean did not indicate how many emails have been sent out. It sounded like they were still in the process of sending the first cut emails.
2) In order to have your Texas Success Initiative (TSI) waived- did you send your high school transcript with your ACT scores, or did you just send college transcripts that says the overall score for ACT?

i have the same on my mystar. i don't know what to do, but i did receive an interview letter. i will probably ask them when i go get my interview.
Did I miss something? Did applicants need to reqest that their TEASV scores be sent to UTMB?? I questioned why it was still listed on my to-do list, yet my application status says complete. I was just told that I needed proof that I requested my scores to be sent to the school before my application can further be reviewed!!!! WTH??
