Hi everyone! Just thought I'd start a thread for those who are applying to UTMB for Fall 2011. There are some really great (and long!) threads out there for Spring 2011 and earlier...but as I'm sure y'all know, the application process can change from cycle to cycle, plus it's just nice to have a new thread for us. :) So feel free to post questions, comments, or anything related to applications!
I'm applying as a second-degree student to UTMB, UTHSC, TWU (Houston), UT Arlington and A&M, plus maybe the new Texas State program. Whew! I keep hearing great things about UTMB so that might be my #1....
A question to start us off: so we can now use either the centralized NursingCAS application, or the application through UTMB, right? What are you all going to do? I'm thinking of just doing UTMB's direct application....if you do NursingCAS, I think you'll have to do a supplemental UTMB application+fee anyway, so you might as well just do it all once...thoughts?
I haven't heard a darn thing either! I got an 84 on my teas and my GPA is 3.36... patience is my virtue I've decided to work on this week.
I don't know if this website helps or makes the anxious feelings worse!!
Whatever happens... I believe it happens for a reason. Lately in my prayers I've been saying God what your will is let it be done, instead of what I want... So I'm putting my trust in him. :)
Overall 3.2, science 4.0, TEAS 96. No medical experience unfortunately I got my rejection from UTHSC last Tuesday...that really sucked. But UTMB has always been my #1...still waiting to hear anything. I emailed student affairs, and they said they're continually reviewing applications. So if we haven't heard yet it's not over, folks! (Rationally I know this, but I still feel anxious, and reading allnurses can either help or aggravate the situation, haha)

Just wanted to say don't give up!! Last semester they sent out 2nd round interviews about a week and a half or two weeks later. As for the ratios most classes have everyone in the program in your class all 90 of ours. Labs are different it goes by clinical group so you may only have 10

I'm almost the exact same as you. Just 1 pt higher on TEAS, all pre-reqs finished. And I'm already a LVN. Hopefully we both get good news soon.
