Hi everyone! Just thought I'd start a thread for those who are applying to UTMB for Fall 2011. There are some really great (and long!) threads out there for Spring 2011 and earlier...but as I'm sure y'all know, the application process can change from cycle to cycle, plus it's just nice to have a new thread for us. :) So feel free to post questions, comments, or anything related to applications!
I'm applying as a second-degree student to UTMB, UTHSC, TWU (Houston), UT Arlington and A&M, plus maybe the new Texas State program. Whew! I keep hearing great things about UTMB so that might be my #1....
A question to start us off: so we can now use either the centralized NursingCAS application, or the application through UTMB, right? What are you all going to do? I'm thinking of just doing UTMB's direct application....if you do NursingCAS, I think you'll have to do a supplemental UTMB application+fee anyway, so you might as well just do it all once...thoughts?
the same here. I was totally shocked when trying to reapplying the other day to UTMB. When I last heard from them was 6/13 and the deadline for Spring was 6/15. This school is totally bs. Good luck with all of you who got in.
Yes...June 15th is mighty early for a Spring start; UTA's was June 1st. What's awful about this is that you won't know your fate until lateFall. Where's the logic in that?? Go figure.
Luckily UTH is September 1st, so I can apply there. :)
I got accepted to TWU for the fall 2012 with the same GPA and TEAs score. UTMB was not fair when they selected applicants. Why? They selected whoever applied first , while TWU waited for 1 month after the deadline before they started selecting.

Congrats on your acceptance!! I don't understand UTMB's selection process, but I know it isn't in application order. I submitted my application 3 days before the deadline. Had a friend apply early, with almost identical scores, and not get in. They look at much more than numbers... Though I still think their system is flawed.
I agree with punkydoodles - I applied one day before deadline (I know- cutting it close!) and made it in. I would like to think it had something to do with my application essay - as I spent days and days writing it - but I honestly don't know how they do what they do either.
