I know it's a little early, as applications are due until July 7, 2011, but I'm excited already and want to hear from others applying for the Spring 2012 semester. Anyone submit their application yet or in the process of submitting?
Did anybody else have trouble keeping the 3 essays under 800 characters? I was thinking 800 words each, but then once I tried to copy-paste them into the essay boxes, it was difficult to trim them down to fit within the 800 CHARACTER (including spaces) limit!
Guess they don't want to read all that much ha!

When I first looked I thought it said 800 words as well ha. So I looked on word to see just how much that really is without spaces its 191 words and with spaces its about 150 words. I guess they want us to answer as brief as possible.
Luckily a girl that was in my class last semester let me know that it was in 'characters' not 'words' for the questions so I've been preparing myself to write short and to the point essays. She said she wrote out all of the essays in words instead of characters and never even realized it! Lucky for her she still got in!
And maybe since it's only 800 characters and not words, they'll read them faster and we'll know if were accepted sooner! Just hoping...... lol :)
I just completed/paid my Supplemental App online and then closed the window, opened a new browser to try logging back in to the app site, but wasn't able to login anymore. I guess once you submit, you have no more business there, so they shut you out. Did anybody who completed their application also experience this? Just wondering...
What a relief -- I'm glad it's done. I wanted to do it asap 'coz I need to focus on Chem II this weekend (1st test on 3 chapters on Tues)!
I really had to work hard to trim the fat/bull from my essay to get the 800 chars. I used 799 on questions 1 & 2, and 800 on question 3 -- talk about pushing it to the limit!!
Good luck everyone!!
800 characters with spaces, punctuation, etc. I am really counting on knowing something soon. Hopefully it won't take them more than 2 weeks to process through everyone. I heard there were significantly less applicants and as long as you didn't bomb the TEAS, (not sure of UTHSCSA's definition of bombing), you should be ok. We'll see...

All of the schools that use NursingCAS require an additional application fee once you send the supp app in.
Since the centralized application system is a third party organization and absorbs the first app fee as payment for their services, this is actually the first time we're paying the school anything at all. So really, it's essentially the only app fee the school requires.
Kinda sucks, but applicatons have never been cheap! In all actuality, it's actually a better system then most. Many schools require that you submit your NursingCAS fee, then your supp app comes immediately after and you need to pay for that also. At least all of the people that "didn't make it this far" didn't have to pay the school the app fee for no reason... if that makes you feel any better
