UTHSCSA Accelerated BSN Summer 2015

Published

Hi everyone!

I looked and looked on here but I didn't see a thread for people applying to the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio (UTHSCSA) Accelerated BSN Summer 2015 program, so I thought I'd start a thread. I just submitted my application (kind of late I know). How's it going for everyone?

Where did u see that?

Just noticed we already have some of our reading assignments for the first day of class, lol. :) Hope everyone has a Happy Easter!

Where did you see that?

😱 how do you know!

I noticed you can now click on most of the courses in the summer semester schedule they posted online. When you click on the course, it gives a summary, the books we'll need (which I'm hesitant to purchase since they don't show up on the registration portal yet), and some have reading assignments at the very bottom (Pathophysiology and Health Assessment and Promotion: Theoretical Foundation).

As I read the syllabi, all I see is...blah blah blah...fail a test, fail the course..blah. Study sessions a year and half long..here we come!

Does anyone know any information on accessing blackboard..like maybe account info?

I couldn't find anything about login info. Was hoping our regular login info would what we use for blackboard too, but I guess not.

It is our username and password but I guess our access isn't put in yet. I have an account for blackboard set up with my UTHSCSA info (set up by them I presume) and can change the password but I can't gain access. It's weird.

lol @ having to read four chapters for the first day of Health Assessment and Promotion

Anyone else feel the need to brush up on A&P? It's been over a year since I took it.

Yes for sure. I've been going through khan academy videos just to refresh my memory a bit.

Yea I probably should as well. It's been 2 years for me 😳

I just prices out all the books we need for classes that are listed except socialization (since there is not a link to a syllabus) and there are 8 books so far..totaling $344 used before tax and shipping. I used Amazon and these are all textbooks, no e-books.

Who is buying their books now? I mean if we have orientation on thurs and fri with reading assignments due on Monday...that's not enough time to ship it. And I'm sure it's a lot more expensive at the bookstore. I'm ballin on a budget!

Any thoughts?
