UTHSCSA Accelerated BSN Summer 2015

Published

Hi everyone!

I looked and looked on here but I didn't see a thread for people applying to the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio (UTHSCSA) Accelerated BSN Summer 2015 program, so I thought I'd start a thread. I just submitted my application (kind of late I know). How's it going for everyone?

I tried to, but got a message saying that there are not any permits available for me to purchase yet. I didn't know if anyone else had received this same message. Maybe they still have to put our information into their system....I don't know. Let me know if you're able to get yours!

That is strange. Okay I will.

I wonder if anyone has looked at the nclex pass rate for uthscsa for 2014. It is kinda low. I believe it was in the low 70s, unless I'm looking at the wrong info. I'm a little worried about that. 😔

I got the same message when I tried to purchase a parking permit. I think in the offer document they sent us, it says the parking permits are to be purchased in April.

The school's NCLEX pass rate for 2014 was 78%. Might be why they've started making changes to admission requirements for future classes. I wonder if they'll be doing a lot of tweaking to classes too.

I hope they do make changes in the curriculum that increase the pass rate. I know that changes were made to the nclex, but the change did not seem to dramatically affect , utmb or UT Houston. Like it did uthscsa. I'm still grateful for the opportunity I am getting at Uthscsa 😊😊😄. Thank you for correcting me, sbgldneag about the percentage.

I tried to purchase my permit in February but I was told that I could only purchase a spring permit. We have to wait until April to buy the one for the summer.

I'm waiting to purchase mine ( obviously until April because they are making us lol) but also because k hope to live within walking distance and avoid paying a parking pass fee all together 😁

Hi everyone. I'm applying for the accelerated program at the end of this year, to start in the summer of 2016. I still need to take Nutrition as a pre-req & then I will be done with all of them. Do I have to take it this summer, or will I be able to apply if I take it in the Fall? Basically the class will be just finishing in December as I'm applying. Will this be considered complete, or will they make me wait until the following year to apply? (I know you have to send updated transcripts, so this would include my fall class.) Any help would be great, thanks in advance. And congrats to you all!!

Yes all of your science classes have to be completed prior to you applying. I would strongly advise taking it this summer.

Everyone excited about our schedule!! Lol

I completed all of my trainings, but it still says I have a hold because I haven't completed all of them. Am I suppose to do something with my certificates or should the department see that I have completed them?

You're supposed to take a screen shot of the screen showing you're training courses have been completed and email it to the school. Once they receive it, the hold will be removed a few days later.

Thank you, I appreciate you responding so quickly!
