Hi everyone!
I looked and looked on here but I didn't see a thread for people applying to the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio (UTHSCSA) Accelerated BSN Summer 2015 program, so I thought I'd start a thread. I just submitted my application (kind of late I know). How's it going for everyone?
I am all for the MacBook. I will be choosing the 13in retina display based on my findings from past year nursing forums from UTHSCSA. I read that the 15in MacBooks can be heavier to carry + may not sit/fit on the small desks properly (assuming the classrooms are still setup the same way). Additionally, a few students mentioned the Windows based computers came across multiple issues (software/virus-wise) that the Macs did not experience. It's all about personal preference. It may be easier to decide if you stop by BestBuy to compare them side by side =)

Oh you just made my decision harder again lol 😂 I made my mind up to get the 15 in Mac, now I'm going to be considering getting the 13 in. 😩
I think it is a little ridiculous that we have to buy a laptop through the school. Most of the laptops they offer are way over priced even with all of the programs and antivirus software they will come with.
But since I will be rejected for not choosing a laptop, I will most likely purchase the Dell XPS touch ultrabook.
I know some people are mad about the computer requirement but just to be the devils advocate....
The school requires computer purchase from them to ensure sameness and reliability. I have a friend currently in the traditional program and he said that all tests are done on our computers in a proctored room. All power points are loaded to blackboard so you use your computer in every class for notes and to follow along. While the prices I can't say are accurate or overpriced as I don't know what they specifically put into it, I can understand their desire to make sure every student has a reliable computer that the school can be responsible for if tech problems arise. Just some two cents.

I have a MacBook Air, just can't decided between the 13 and the 15. Which do you have? And how do you like it?
