Hi everyone, I just wanted to begin a thread for all UT Health SON students who are applying for Summer 2017. I didn't see a thread created for this term yet. I look forward to getting to know all of you as we begin this long journey. Feel free to share anything regarding the application process and/or ask any questions that you may have!
Hey guys...I have been following this thread for the past few months and it has been a whole lot of help when you all share information like this. I just found out today that I have been accepted......yay I'm so excited !!! Also a heads up -- I paid my deposit of $200 to reserve my seat to be on the safe side.
My status:
Nursing Overall GPA: 3.8
Science Overall GPA: 4.0
HESI: 89%
Hope all those who applied get accepted....good luck to all.....!!!
Hello everyone! I have been following this thread for about a month. I've had a really crazy road when it comes to school. However, I received my acceptance email this morning at 10:30!!! All I can truly say is keep fighting for what you really want. My faith in God and my positivity definitely helped me. My stats look nothing like others on thread, but I kept relying on prayer. Also, FYI I have a previous degree in Health from Texas A&M.Overall GPA: 3.2
Nursing GPA: 3.3
Science GPA: 3.3
HESI: 87.2%
As you can see, I am not as competitive as others. Their decisions range all over the place. So one thing I can tell you is to not be discouraged if you didn't get in this time. God has a plan! I have a Youtube channel where I share my previous college experience. I will be uploading more videos about nursing. You guys are welcome to watch me, my Youtube channel is named Amabely Flowers. I want to encourage others who really want to be nurses. Stay positive! Have a great day!
Congrats! My stats are similar to yours, this is my 3rd time applying, I wish they would at least send me an evaluation and let me know if there anything I can do to improve my chances of getting in.
Everything you said amch!!! We are so invested, I think those of us that have applied multiple times are more invested in each others journeys than our own friends!!! LOL
Happy for them, and hoping for us!!! But there's always other schools out there! I just got another ranking notification from another school, that makes 2 this week that have at least ranked me on the admissions list!!!

Amen!
I am going to have to put my eggs in other baskets, unfortunately UTMB is not an option for me. Transportation would be difficult and relocating would be impossible.
I have taken the TEAS before, but back in 2012. I wonder if I would have to re-take it to be able to apply to other schools, such as TWU?
I GOT IN!!!!!
I checked my portal at 5:30 and I had the green check!!!! I was in line at chick fil a and started crying In front of everyone I just accepted and paid my deposit.
My last name starts with a V.
Hesi: 92
Overall: 3.5
not sure about my science or pre req gpa because I never received an evaluation and this was my second time applying.
I've got apps in at UTA & UTMB for the Fall. I may re-take the HESI before applying for UTHSC Fall semester. I'm hesitant because I have solid scores except for A&P and would hate to make a lesser score on the re-take. UTMB will be a drive for me, but I figure I can make it work since it's only for 15 or so months. Of course it makes it tougher since my wife works full time and my kids keep us on the move with school and extra curricular activities. I think I may apply to ACC and SanJacs ADN program too as a last resort. I hate to spend an additional two years for an ADN, but it's better than nothing. I have friends that have done an RN-BSN program in under 9 months, so it pretty much doubles the time it would take for one of these Accelerated BSN programs.
Like you, I've been rejected before, so I know that stress. Don't think like that(I know it's easier said than done), but we've got to get in. This is our time! God knows the perfect timing and I pray this is our time. Next week is ours and we'll join these awesome classmates of ours, for summer 2017:up:.
Something tells me it's not happening for me, AGAIN!
