Hey guys, just wanted to begin a thread for all UT Health SON hopefuls who are applying for Spring 2016. I look forward to getting to know all of you as we begin to play what seems to be the longest waiting game ever! I am more than confident that each and every one of us will be receiving our acceptance letters around this same time next year:) Feel free to share anything regarding the application process and/or ask any questions that you may have!
I know many of us are stressed out right now about admissions. I just wanted to say that what helped me in making this process a lot LESS stressfull is having a plan B, and even Plans C, D and E, if I did not get into UTH. UTMB is my plan B (where I got in). TWU was plan C, Then UT-Tyler and finally Lone Star College ADN program. I ended up not applying or even completing applications to some programs I mentioned here because of early acceptance to UTMB (their deadline is early in May and they accepted me in the summer). I know that circumstances are different, but it can be more stressful if we put "all eggs in the same basket." And as we know stress is not good for health.
Yes, my dream is to be a UT nurse, but I'm moving forward with Lonestar adn program starting in January if I'm not accepeted to UT. Then planning to do RN to BSN at UT. I'm not old, but I'm not 20 either, so it's time to get a move on! Onward and upward!
Meanwhile, the wait is torturous!!!!!
Did anyone else receive an email from SON today? I was so excited when I saw that it was from UTH SON, but then became very disappointed when it was only a survey about the new veterans BSN program they are starting as of Spring 2016. Grrhhh... As you can imagine I thought it was an email in regards to admissions. :-$

Michelle, I am in the exact same position as you and very similar stats. 3.9 GPA/96 HESI that I've worked my booty off (with 3 kids) to maintain.
I saw someone posted that a previous class found out around October 14. That is Wednesday my friends!!!
Fingers crossed and good luck to everyone.
