Hey guys, just wanted to begin a thread for all UT Health SON hopefuls who are applying for Spring 2016. I look forward to getting to know all of you as we begin to play what seems to be the longest waiting game ever! I am more than confident that each and every one of us will be receiving our acceptance letters around this same time next year:) Feel free to share anything regarding the application process and/or ask any questions that you may have!

So, I finally got ahold of someone and got my transcript issue fixed.

Also, today, I got a response from an e mail I sent back in APRIL😕.

Can't believe it's finally October and we may be hearing news within the next couple of weeks!

The first wave of acceptances for Spring 2014 went out October 14th so hopefully we will get lucky and hear back as early as next week! Good luck everyone

Hey guys did anyone submit an essay? During the application there was no mention of it and its not an requirement but I looked at the applicant criteria list on their website and they do mention it. Maybe it is something that can be submitted as a extra material? Does anyone have any clue about this?

Are you referring to the BSN admission criteria page? If so, I don't think it has been updated since they did away with interviews in 2010. I'm assuming that along with the interview they once accepted essays as a part of the admissions process

Yes I was referring to that.... I assumed that was the case... Oh well I guess there is not much we can do but wait :/ Anyway I called them few days ago someone finally picked up a phone! She said there were 800 applicant and they will be taking 120! :)

I know.. I'm getting so anxious! I REALLY hope we all make it.

I wish they were more in synch with UTMB. I was accepted into UTMB but only have until October 19th to accept and pay a deposit. It would be nice to know before then. Oh well, I'm sure there are worse problems to have, but I know a lot of people would prefer UTHSC because of location, and the UTMB deposit is non-refundable. It would be great to know by next week!

That would've been ideal. Congrats on your acceptance to UTMB! I went ahead and secured the deposit for UTMB anyway just in case. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and really loved the personal statement/interview process.. Kind of makes you feel like more than just a GPA or test score. Both schools are great and I am really torn at this point but the move to Galveston is the biggest problem. I would love to stay here in Houston which is why UTH is a little more convenient for me. I am grateful either way however having that option to choose would be such a blessing.
