UTHSC Nursing Spring 2016

Hey guys, just wanted to begin a thread for all UT Health SON hopefuls who are applying for Spring 2016. I look forward to getting to know all of you as we begin to play what seems to be the longest waiting game ever! I am more than confident that each and every one of us will be receiving our acceptance letters around this same time next year:) Feel free to share anything regarding the application process and/or ask any questions that you may have!

AHHH i just read the whole spring 2015 thread and it was literally like reading a book... once i got to their application submissions i had to read all the way to the end to see who got accepted. it made me so nervous about the whole process. there seemed to be so many uncertainties and mess ups with the application. i think it just made me more stressed :dead:

That is so funny that you said that because I am guilty of doing the exact same thing! Definitely increased my stress level also. Hang in there!

I have not yet. I plan on taking it early June after I complete A&P II also that will give me enough time for the 30-day wait rule if I need to take it twice! What about you guys?

I was probably going to take in either May or June. Do you know of different locations where we can take the test at? I live about 2 hours away from Houston and I didn't want to drive all the there to take the test if I can take it some where closer to where I live.

I believe that when you register to take your exam through the Elsevier/Prometric website, it will ask for you to put in your zip code or address in order to locate a testing center closest to you. I am sure they will have a testing center near you! Two hours is quite a long drive.

I was planning on taking it mid-July so I could finish up my A&PII as well. Is anyone going to the information session on December 9th?? Or did you go to the one earlier this month? I'm interested to hear how it went if you have...

I took the Hesi i but i need to retake it because I only got a 68 on the AP section.

Math 90

Vocab 86

Reading 88

Grammar 86

AP 68

I have all my prereqs done but Im gonna retake stats and ap I during spring 2015 to increase my chances for UT, UTMB, and TWU

Hello everyone! UTHSC-SON program hopeful here! I was wondering what's the deadline to apply for Spring. If I have most of my classes/requirements done before the deadline, I'm definitely trying for Spring 2016. Otherwise I'll be applying for the fall session...

  • Spring application deadline is August 15 and we should be notified by November 15th whether or not we have been accepted

@chancec13, I am also applying to UTMB for the spring semester but I believe I will choose UTHSC as my first pick (if accepted to both) since it is closer to me. Both are great schools, TWU also!

@Winemo, Yay glad to see another UTHSC hopeful! What classes will you still need to take after the application deadline? I know I will be missing Microbiology & Anatomy I lab since they are only offered in the fall at my school.
