Hey guys, just wanted to begin a thread for all UT Health SON hopefuls who are applying for Spring 2016. I look forward to getting to know all of you as we begin to play what seems to be the longest waiting game ever! I am more than confident that each and every one of us will be receiving our acceptance letters around this same time next year:) Feel free to share anything regarding the application process and/or ask any questions that you may have!
I am a single mom of 10, 8, and 7 year old daughter's. I have been in school full-time for the past year. It has been hard but my study skills have changed so much as an adult. I think it may even be a little easier because I do not have friends wanting to go out, no extracurricular activities, only 3 daughters depending on me to get this done. I think that is great motivation. We are also use to late nights and early mornings :) I think that there will be many parents and single moms in class. It will not take you long to hook up with a few of them and that will be your support system for the next year and a half. Good luck to you. You will do great!
Wow. Why is everyone stressing out so much? Not to be critical, but if you can't handle the stress of waiting to get into nursing school how will you deal with many stresses of being a nurse? Like being in ER when a patient in critical condition comes in and its a life and death situation... Relax, have backup plans if you do not get in. Not the end of the world.
Just my opinion, but I think most of us are just really excited to see if we got in. I've already been accepted to another school; but uthsc is my first pick. So, yes! I'm anxious and ready to see which direction my future is going. I see no fault with that. While you sit back and relax I am going to push my refresh button again.

Although, I am not a mother of a child I do have a 16 year old. If anyone is a mother of a teenager they know it can be stressful at times.. I hope I get in, but I also hope I get the opportunity to be there for her during her senior year.. I would hate to miss those moments, but I know she will understand if I had to. If anyone has advice I would love to hear your input.
