  1. Great Advice! I really appreciate it. Will be taking the "general ICU" offer. Thanks!
  2. All things being fairly equal, which ICU would you consider good for starting my critical care experience in: Neuro or General ICU? I'm transitioning from MedSurg to ICU and would love some advice on that. My goal is to do ICU travel nursing in 2-3 years. Is Neuro too specialized?
  3. I considered Lone Star College as my backup actually. Yes, their NCLEX pass rate isnt as high as I want it to be. But I have 2 things to say about this. First, the pass rate actually varies from campus to campus: Kingwood, Cy-Fair, North Harris... I dont remember which one is higher and lower anymore, but something to look into. Second, I believe a large part of NCLEX pass rate is what u put into it. 8 people out of 10 are doing something right, stick with them!
  4. Dont be scared and have a backup plan. IMHO -If someone doesnt get into BSN program right away, then it's better to get ADN and then RN-BSN than waiting. But every situation is different.
  5. Make sure u take HESI with "Critical Thinking"section bc most nursing programs now require it. Also, 28 on FB may not reflect those who were accepted during last cycle of applications. Some applicants get rejected for current term, waitlisted and accepted for next term. Not sure if this explanation makes sense, but we just dont know how many people would be in that pool.
  6. I think I agree with you on this. Their window to notify is very short, till Nov 15 if I remember correctly.
  7. I got an acceptance email from UT-Health saying that the profile will change later. As far as waitlist for Spring 2016 goes, my logical assumption is thats the pool of people to draw from. How they decide who to pick from that list - I am not sure about.
  8. @ lsizemore2015 haha I was just messing with ya
  9. Perhaps there is going to be an official FB page made by the school. UTMB did it after they completed all acceptances. I'd wait a little.
  10. only ladies? what about gentlemen? or others? :)
  11. Looks like I just got accepted to UT-Heath. I think I will take it. Should be good news for those who are on the UTMB waitlist for Spring 2016.
  12. got accepted too! wait is over. Congrats to all who been accepted. Good Luck to rest.
  13. well... I put down that I am a number one, top of the list, king of the hill, top of the heap, and a big Sinatra fan. I hope thats enough.
  14. @ckcox WOW. Thats a lot of info. Thanks for compiling. I agree that it may not make sense. But it makes no sense because the info is incomplete. We do not know: (1) where those applicants went to school - University vs Community College, UT System vs Other University, Texas School vs Out of State School. (2) how many class retakes applicants had to boost their GPA (3) HESI retakes - may matter, may not (4) extracurricular activities (5) other experiences that could increase their value to UTHealth They look at numbers but, behind the numbers is a real person, and they look at that too. I think.
  15. ah so it was anxiety. not stress. I get it now.
